|
|
Servers Alive! & NotePager Pro combine to provide a powerful monitoring solution.
Servers Alive monitors and easily informs users of system problems. By using NotePager Pro in combination with Servers Alive, alerts can be sent to pagers and cellular phones, adding another level of notification to network management.

How does this integration work? I've managed to set up an NotePage alert in Servers Alive, and get a file created - but how do I get this forwarded/sent out to my mobile?
Thanks!

Server's Alive should have some integration documentation that you'll need to reference. Since I'm not familiar with the program, I'm not sure what it can and can't do. Does Server's Alive have the ability to run a command line as opposed to generating a text file? |

I've not found such a documentation yet, and I've even contacted the the people of SA myself, without any major breakthroughs. This is what I was told:
- Notepager must be configured to check the directory in which the files are deposited in order to be able to send the message.
- Also within Notepager you have to create "users" with a number attached to that user and then send the message to that user.
How do I configure the directory check? -And is it Notepager Pro I'm supposed to use, or is PageGate also required to run (in the background)?
Thanks!

NotePager Pro, by default, will only check its own directory. It can only monitor the NotePager Pro directory.
As for which program you'd want to use, to tell you the truth, it sounds like you'd want to use PageGate. NotePager Pro is a much more static program in terms of giving it files from an external source - it doesn't really like to do it. PageGate with GetAscii, on the other hand, was made to do just that.
In short, there's not a way to configure the NotePager Pro Directory check but there is if you use PageGate.
I also did a little research and found this site, which is the version 3.3, 4, 4.1, and 5 documentation for Server's Alive:

|
|
Hi
I've fixed my previously mentioned problem now, but have stumbeled across another, which is more Pagegate-related (rather than Servers Alive).
I can't seem to get the Pagegate-program to fetch recipients from the created .asc-file! It only responds to created files when there's a specific recipient selected in the GetAscii-configuration(in the "files"-section).
I've tried using "*" instead of a specific user, but nothing seems to happen when files are created from Servers Alive, while monitoring the PageGate services.
Hope you can help me!

If you would, please email an example .asc file to support@notepage.com
Also, how do you currently have the GetAscii module configured? |
