When I attempt to run the PageGate as a service on a windows 2003 server, I am not able to start the service. I have tried using the local system account as the logon, the local administrator account and the domain administrator account. Each time it says that the service could not be started in a timely fashion. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Scott

Where is PageGate's installation directory?
Occasionally, if PageGate is installed to something other than the system partition, the default system account may not have the correct file/directory permissions. It then cannot run the executables as services. |

I do have it installed on a different partitiion. I don't install programs on the OS partitions (for obvious reasons) What type of permissions must I have? Also would it make a difference if I created the service using Microsoft's SRVANY.exe program? If I can, what is the name of the executable that I need to run? Thanks. Scott

You may want to try the following:
1.) Create a Domain User account for PageGate.
2.) Give that "PageGate" Domain User account "Full Control" on the PageGate installation directory/files.
3.) Modify the "Local Security Policy" on the machine PageGate is installed on, allowing the "PageGate" Domain User account to "Log on as a Service".
4.) Open PageGate Admin
5.) Switch PageGate's "Run Style" to a "Windows NT Service".
6. When prompted for the User/Password, supply the Domain/User account name and Password that was created for PageGate. |
