|
|
Hello everyone,
I'm setting up an alert system for the IT department and need advice on how to organize notifications via SMS using NotePager Pro software.
We have multiple teams responsible for different systems. The network team handles connectivity issues, while the server team deals with hardware failures and service outages. Currently, employees are receiving too many notifications that are irrelevant to their job responsibilities.
I want to configure the system so that each team receives only the alerts relevant to their specific duties. For example, network alerts would be sent to the network group, while serious server alerts would be sent to server administrators. Some high-priority incidents might require notifying both teams.slope
Are there any recommended approaches for organizing recipient groups and routing alerts to them? I also want to know if this can be done through the NotePager Pro settings or if I need to use a different NotePager product that is more suitable for this setup model.
I look forward to hearing your suggestions or seeing specific examples.
Thank you for your assistance.

It sounds like you have multiple workstations or monitoring programs that will need to send messages and I would strongly recommend using PageGate rather than NotePager Pro.
The style of messaging and escalation you've described is something PageGate can definitely handle.
As for recommendations for how to organize recipients and groups and their routing, how do you send your messages? Do you have people manually selecting recipients and groups to message them? Are you using a network monitoring program like Solarwinds, Splunk, PRTG or similar?
