To get the credentials, you have to login to the Business Notification Center, current link: https://bnc-businessmessaging.att.com/#login
Once logged in, on the left side, go to admin, then organization settings.
About half way down the page is "SNPP Credentials".
Click "Generate Credentials".

I had this working, but has stopped when I had to change credentials
how do you enter the username and password into the "password" field under the advanced tab ?

For the SNPP protocol, you enter the username and the password separated by a single space in to the 'Password' field.
For example:
FirstNetUsername SNPPPasswordHere |
