|
|
I have setup Pagegate on a Win2K SP4 server and it is giving me an error when I switched it to service mode.
"The instruction at "0x10002228" referenced memory at "0x10002228". The memory could not be "read".
Then the application starts and shows the icon in the taskbar.
If I switch it back to Application mode Pagegate shuts down and will not restart at all.
Is there a list of services that should be running and in which mode?
This error occured when I gave the service a bad account password for the local service account - now I can not seem to get it back up and running correctly.
Thanks,
Andy Bradley

Are there any "PageGate" services are listed in the Services Management Console?
If so, what is listed and what is the "Startup" type?
Have you tried rebooting the machine. then starting PageGate Server as an application?

I have rebooted and still receive the same error.
(I need to limit the number of reboots on this server as it is in service).
There are 4 Pagegate services (PageGate, PageGate Dialer1, PageGate GetMail, PageGate Scheduler) and 1 PGMailService services and they are all set to manual.
Thoughts?
Andy

Try uninstalling your PageGate Services (below), then start PageGate Server as an application (from 'Start' - 'Programs' - 'PageGate' - '"PageGate Server" menu).
These are the PageGate Services that may appear (depending on your specific options) in your Windows Services Management Console.
PageGate Service Name - (Startup Type)
PageGate - (Automatic)
PageGate Dialer 1 - (Manual)
PageGate GetAscii - (Manual)
PageGate GetMail - (Manual)
PageGate GetSerial - (Manual)
PageGate GetTap - (Manual)
PageGate GetWeb - (Manual)
PageGate Scheduler - (Manual)
PGMailService - (Manual)
To manually uninstall a PageGate "Service":
1.) Open a commandline interface
2.) Change directories to the PageGate installation directory
3.) Type the appropriate command from the list below
pagegate uninstall
pgdial1 uninstall
pggascii uninstall
pggmail uninstall
pggserial uninstall
pggtap uninstall
pggweb uninstall
pgsched uninstall
pgmailserver uninstall
