PageGate supports sending messages through Verizon's Enterprise Messaging Access Gateway (EMAG).

When registering on EMAG, we recommend registering for WCTP, SNPP and SMTP APIs. Registering for all three allows you to configure WCTP (which allows for delivery via HTTPS), SNPP and SMTP. This allows you to configure a three tier fail-over system, where PageGate will attempt to deliver the messages through the HTTPS WCTP host. If that fails, it will then try the SNPP host and if even that fails, it will attempt to send the message via SMTP/email.

Here's what you'll need to do in PageGate:

1) Open the PageGate Admin.

2) Right click 'Carriers' and select 'Add'.

3) Specify the following:

Name: EMAG (Note: This is arbitrary, you can assign any value you please)
Protocol: WCTP
Host: wctp.emag.vzw.com/wctp/wctp
Port: 443

Note: By specifying port 443, PageGate assumes HTTPS and the https:// declaration is not needed in the host field.

4) Click on Apply.

5) Go to Carriers - EMAG - Advanced.

6) In the Username and Password fields, enter the EMAG WCTP credentials you configured.

7) Click on Apply.

8) Right click 'Carriers' and select 'Add'.

9) Specify the following:

Name: EMAG-SNPP (Note: This is arbitrary, you can assign any value you please)
Protocol: SNPP
Host: snpp.emag.vzw.com
Port: 444

10) Click on Apply.

11) Go to Carriers - EMAG-SNPP - Advanced

12) In the Password field, enter the SNPP API username and password, separated by a single space.
For example: emagname passwordhere

13) Click Apply.

14) Right click 'Carriers' and select 'Add'.

15) Specify the following:

Name: EMAG-SMTP (Note: This is arbitrary, you can assign any value you please)
Protocol: SMTP
Carrier Domain: vzvmg.biz
Port: Select the port required by your SMTP server.
Max Chars: 160

16) Click Apply.

17) Go to Carriers - EMAG-SMTP - Advanced.

18) Select: Deliver through local/ISP mail server.

19) Enter your SMTP Server address.

20) If authentication credentials are required, enter them in the Username and Password fields.

21) Click on Apply.

22) Go to Program - Template.

23) In the Settings section, set the InternetDomain = variable to your email domain.

24) Click on Apply.

25) Go to Carriers - EMAG - Advanced.

26) Set 'Failover' to: EMAG-SNPP

27) Click on Apply.

28) Go to Carriers - EMAG-SNPP - Advanced.

29) Set 'Failover' to: EMAG-SMTP

30) Click Apply.

When using SNPP with the VZW EMAG - remember to set the message limit to "1" - the EMAG will only allow 1 message per connection. Our public safety clients using the VZW EMAG have multiple connectors licensed to increase throughput.

You'll want to log in to the EMAG portal and access the APIs section.

Once you're there, you'll want to create a new SNPP connection. As for the fixed code to use, you should be able to select any of the fixed codes available but if you want inter-carrier operability enabled for this API, you'll need to select an inter-carrier fixed code. We'd really recommend contacting Verizon for assistance on fixed code selection if you're uncertain.

After you've created the SNPP API connection, make a note of the username and password as we'll need that in PageGate.

Now, to configure PageGate to use this new SNPP connection, we first need to understand how you have your carriers currently configured. If you go in to the settings of Verizon carrier in the PG Admin, what protocol is it set to use?

Thanks for the reply, I followed the steps in a previous thread and created a new carrier with the user name ect. and testing with just my phone for now.

Using the user name and password I setup in the SNPP with a space between for in the carrier setup password section. The failover SMTP is working fine getting error user name password incorrect.

Ah, Verizon may need to whitelist the IP of the PageGate server for access to the SNPP API. That's usually the cause of credential rejection when you know the credentials are good. Effectively, the EMAG system ties your credentials to the public IP you're connecting from. If that IP isn't on their list of allowed senders, the gateway rejects the connection attempt even if you provide valid credentials.

As always the best support I have ever dealt with is Note Page. That was the problem had to update the IP white list.

Thank you
