Is it possible to add the paging group name or description to the beginning of the messages being sent out?
This way we can determine the intent of the message?

Certainly, it's fairly easy to do that. Is it something you wanted applied to all messages sent from system, messages queued through a specific interface or only for a specific recipient or carrier? |

Here's what you'll want to do:
1) Open the PageGate Admin.
2) Go to Program - Template.
3) In the "Text" section of the Template, update it to say:
%OriginalRecipient%: %Message%
Alternatively, if you have an existing text template, just prefix %OriginalRecipient% before your current template. The %OriginalRecipient% variable will insert the name of the group or recipient originally messaged. So, if you have a template formatted like this:
%OriginalRecipient%: %Message%
your messages would come in like this:
GroupName: Text message goes here
For a list of all template variables, have a look at our documentation here:
http://www.notepage.net/manuals/pg/v7/server/html/index.html
The section you're interested in will be PageGate Admin - Using the PageGate Admin - Templates |

Remember that the new template will not take effect until PageGate is stopped and re-started. PageGate Server reads template info on startup_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

Thankfully, that's no longer the case with version 7. With versions 5 and 6, you did have to restart the Pagegate service as the templates were only read in on server start. However, we've modified the behavior in version 7. Templates now update on the fly and do not require a service restart. |
