Hello,
I've just installed a trial of Pagenote to see if I can get it to play with my serial SMS modem.
I've set the program up with carrier, connector, recipients etc, but am getting the following when trying to send a test message:
22/03/2016 18:01:20 Start connection to carrier: Vodafone
22/03/2016 18:01:20 Connect using TAP protocol
22/03/2016 18:01:20 Setting communication parameters (1200,n,8,1)
22/03/2016 18:01:20 Connected to carrier
22/03/2016 18:01:20 Waiting for protocol initialization
22/03/2016 18:01:20 Sent:<CR>
22/03/2016 18:01:22 Sent:<CR>
22/03/2016 18:01:25 Sent:<CR>
22/03/2016 18:01:29 Sent:<CR>
22/03/2016 18:01:34 Carrier retry limit reached. Marking pending messages as bad
22/03/2016 18:01:34 FAILED Stn:0 To:oc Frm:+441234567890 Msg:test
If I manually try to send an SMS using putty it always fails at the end of the message..
>Test message [CTRL-Z]
+CMS error 512
I've verified the SMSC number and compared it to a local Vodafone UK mobile and it's correct.
Any ideas?

Ah, you'll want to reconfigure the carrier for a different protocol. If you're using a cellular modem, you'll want to do this:
1) Open the PG Admin.
2) Go to Carriers - Vodafone - Settings.
3) Specify the following:
Protocol: GSM-AT
Baud Rate: 115200
Parity: None
Data Bits: 8
Stop Bits: 1
Init String: AT+CSQ (you'll need to type this in to the field)
Max Chars: 160
4) Click on Apply.
Then try to send a message and let's see what the response from the device looks like. |

Hm... let's double check the COM port of the device. If you would:
1) In Windows, open the Control Panel.
2) Open "Phone and Modem"
3) Go under the Modems tab.
4) Make a note of the COM port assigned to the device.
5) In the PG Admin, go to Connectors - Connector 1 - Settings.
6) Set the Serial Port field to match the COM port of the modem.
6a) Make sure "Direct Connect" is NOT checked.
7) Click on Apply. |
