When trying to send to old analog pagers from PageGate, the serial connection responds with
1/18/2016 11:16:40 AM Start connection to carrier: page
1/18/2016 11:16:40 AM Connect using RawSerial protocol
1/18/2016 11:16:40 AM Setting communication parameters (4800,e,7,1)
1/18/2016 11:16:41 AM Attempting to reset modem
1/18/2016 11:16:44 AM Sent: AT<CR>
1/18/2016 11:16:47 AM Received:ID=
1/18/2016 11:16:48 AM Attempting to reset modem
1/18/2016 11:16:51 AM Sent: AT<CR>
1/18/2016 11:16:54 AM Received:<NAK>
1/18/2016 11:16:54 AM Attempting to reset modem
1/18/2016 11:16:58 AM Sent: AT<CR>
This repeats until the carrier retry limit is reached and it marks the messages as bad. Originally this protocol was set to TAP and was working fine for months, then just suddenly stopped working. I've had the phone equipment tested on the other end of the serial cable and it is functioning properly.
Currently using PageGate version 5.0.95 on a Windows 7 64 bit desktop
Does anyone have any ideas?

Based on the segment of the log you posted, it looks like someone changed the protocol being used, as shown in this line:
1/18/2016 11:16:40 AM Connect using RawSerial protocol
Here's what you'll want to do:
1) Open the PG Admin.
2) Go to Carriers - page - Settings.
3) Set the Protocol to: TAP
4) Click on Apply.
5) Go to Connectors - Connector 1 - Settings.
6) Near the bottom, put a check in 'Direct Connect'
7) Click on Apply |
