We have installed a couple of new workstations which need PG admin running. The program installs fine (as administrator) but produces the following errors when attempting to open

PG Admin Warning Message
Excessive database retries in Procedure:
UpdateUserIdLength: 3262

PG Admin Fatal Error
Excessive database errors: 3262 Could not lock table 'users'; currently in use by user 'admin' on machine 'TREADSTONE'. in procedure: UpdateUserIdLength
Program Halted

Treadstone is the name of the PageGate Server, PG Admin is not running on it.

I am able to log in fine on our existing workstations. (which run v7.0.6)

I have set the permissions on the PageGateDate directory to Everyone; Full Control, at the share level and NTFS security level

I have tried turning off windows firewall on the new workstations

Any further tricks I can try to get these workstations going would be great.

Thansk
Joel

What path did you install the PageGate Admin to on the workstation?

Also, what Operating System are the workstations using and what OS is the server using?

Hi Thanks for the quick reply.

I have tried installing to C:\Program Files (x86)\NotePage\PageGate Admin\ as well as C:\PageGate Admin\

OS is Win7 Pro service pack .1

We've seen that once before - something didn't go smoothly during a database upgrade at some point.

We have an updated pgadmin.exe file that will probably fix the problem for you.

Instructions:

Download this file:

http://www.notepage.net/download/dev/pgadmin.exe

Replace the current pgadmin.exe file in your PageGate program folder with this new version and then try running PG Admin again.

Hi Thanks for the reply,

Unfortunately there is no change, this exe spat out the same errors.

Is there a log file we can look at to maybe get a better idea what is going on?

Thanks
Joel

Sorry for the trouble. Seem that the file I had you download wasn't the most current one that I had intended you to receive.

I have uploaded the latest to our server to the same location. So, can you download the file from the same location in my last post and replace your pgadmin.exe file with the new one? To verify you have the newest version, go to the properties of the new pgadmin.exe and it should say that it is now version 7.0.21

Thanks
