Many of our customers are using Industrial Cellular modems with Unlimited Text Messaging to send messages from their PageGate to Cell Phones.

Basically, once you purchase and activate the device with a carrier, you set up a new "carrier" in PageGate using the GSM-AT protocol. You then point the recipient to that new carrier and use the recipient's 10 digit cellular number as the ID/PIN

We have these devices available as GSM for ATT or TMobile as well as CDMA for Verizon or Sprint. They are connected to the PageGate Server via RS-232 Serial or USB. It doesn't matter what carrier you subscribe the device to - it will transmit (and receive) SMS traffic over ALL cellular carrier's networks

Cyberdog, just saw your post. I use some SMTP for Verizon with PageGate\NotePage. With SMTP you use the 10digitphoneno@vtext.com There are lists at www.notepager.net to give addresses for various carriers for SMTP, SNPP and WCTP according to what is available from a specific carrier. Hope this helps.
