|
|
Hi,
I installed NotePager Pro and when I run the setup wizard for the first time and get to the Modem Wizard and click to search, it starts with COM 1 and then a window appear "NotePager Pro has encountered a problem and needs to close..... debug, send error report or don't send" NotePager Pro is installed on a Windows XP SP3 (32 bit) box. I want to integrate NotePager Pro with Solarwinds. Anyone gotten this error??? HELP!

The automated routine seems to be encountering a problem when trying to auto-detect the appropriate COM port to use but that shouldn't present a problem, just a minor inconvenience. The first thing we need to do is determine what COM port your modem uses:
1) In Windows, open your Control Panel.
2) In the Control Panel, go into the Phone and Modem Options.
3) In the Phone and Modem Options, go under the Modems tab.
That should provide a list of the modems installed on this system and what COM ports they're attached to. Make a note of what COM port your modem has been assigned.
4) Open NotePager Pro.
5) Go to Tools - Settings - Modem.
6) Set the Modem Port to match the COM port of the modem and click on Apply. |

The modem is on COM 1 and I checked the Modem settings in Notepager Pro and its already on COM1. So do i need to run the wizard?? Because when I do it still shows the error before.

No, you shouldn't need to run the Wizard, if that's the case. Just configure your carriers and recipients and try to send a few test messages. |

Okay I configured the carrier and recipient and sent a Test message and it went thru. Now I'll try and configure it with Solarwinds. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Lando
