|

II have been using PageGate to send dial-up TAP pages from received email successfully for 9 months. I am now trying to also send an email with the page. I am totally lost at how to do this. Where do you set up the server that will receive the mail? Can PageGate do this? It looks like it can but I am missing something.
Thanks!

1) Set up a new carrier (name it "Email" or something that makes sense to you"
2) Select SMTP as the protocol to use
3) Set up a new recipient that points to that carrier
4) Enter the recipient's email address_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

Thanks for the reply I have it working now. I really like this product but the mail setup is more difficult than it needs to be.
Thanks,
Mike

Mail set up is very simple when it comes to SENDING SMTP messages - I agree that it gets a little complicated when you want it to RECEIVE email via te optional getMAIL module. Part of the complication stems from the fact that it is so flexible - not only can PageGate act as a mail server, it can to that as well as pull POP3 mail from other addresss and process messaging based on the content_________________ Aaron D. I set up an Email carrier with SMTP protocal on port 25 and 240 max characters. I then set up the Recipient with the carrier and email address. I see where it leaves PageGate with a Successful tag but it is not received by the user. I am able to send email to them from my desktop Outlook. Any ideas what my problem could be?

Hmm... that's a bit odd. Can you email me the pgdial1.log file from the PageGate Server to support at notepage dot com? Also, be sure to give me an example of a message that said it went through but was never received. |

I too need to handle email w/ paging.
Am I correct to understand that I need the email interface for Pagegate in order to process emails ?
My need is to take mail from our internal Exchange server & push them out to individuals personal accounts. I have approx 100 individuals & need to sent from their corporate Exchange acct to say their Gmail account.
Thanks, Psw

Right. You could use our GetMail module to do just that. |

Why do I keep getting these message rejected errors:
PGGMail Message rejected. Recipient: Danny_Rivera from: STOCKADM. Source: C:\PageGateData\Logs\badmsg\97.ml
When I had the trial pagegate installed it worked fine. Now that I've bought a license to pagegate it will not work.

If you would, please email all of the PageGate log files from your c:\pagegatedata\logs\ folder to support at notepage dot com
I'd like to have a look at the error in context so I can see what's happening. |

Can't figure out why messages are failing. They seem to work 3 or 4 in a row and then fail 6 or so in a row.
