I had to ask US Robotics tech support how to set parity on the USR5637 Modem. It doesn't work like the old modems nor do they have any documentation on their web site. This is what they sent me:

After reading your email I understand that you are having problems with your USR5637 USB Modem.

In order to set the parity you need to send the following commands to the modem using a terminal software:

s13=7 (This sets the wordlentgth to 7 data bits)
s19=2 (This sets the parity to even)


So I am using &FS13=7S19=2 as the init string for USR5637 modem and it works fine calling TAP modems.
