Christy,
What protocol are you trying to use to send to both carriers? |

The AT&T SNPP host is part of their Enterprise Paging system and cannot be used to contact phones that are not subscribed to the EPN. Same goes for their WCTP host.
The Verizon SNPP host is for their pagers, not their cel phones.
That's why neither of those would work.
As for as the Verizon and AT&T SMTP goes, if you would, run this test for me:
1) In Windows, go to Start - Run.
2) In the run line, type the following and click OK: command
3) In the command prompt, type the following and hit enter:
telnet smtp-bb.vtext.com 25
Let me know what happens when you do that.
As far as the Nextel SNPP goes, if your'e sending to hybrid devices (Nextel/Sprint hybrid phones), sometimes the phone gets its SMS service through the Sprint side instead of the Nextel side.
Try creating a Sprint SNPP based carrier and use the host: snpp.messaging.sprint.com
Let's see if that takes care of the Nextel phone numbers that you're having issues with. |

Okay, that means Verizon isn't accepting direct DNS connection requests from your network. Chances are, if Verizon isn't, AT&T isn't either.
The only alternative you have is to deliver to Verizon and AT&T through your local mail server. So, I need you to find the answers to these three questions:
1) What is your local mail server?
2) Does it require authentication?
3) If it does require authentication, what SPECIFIC username/email address and password can you use to authenticate with?
Once you have that information, go to the PageGate Admin and go to Connectors - Global - Settings.
In the relay server field, enter the answer to question #1, then put a chek in Relay All Mail and click on Apply.
If your server does require authentication, click on the + next to your Verizon and AT&T carriers and go to each of their Advanced sub-sections.
In the auth|pass field, enter the username or email address, a pipe, and then the password, no spaces. For example, example@domain.com|thepassword
After you apply those changes, the messages should start to go through. |

I have tried what you suggested and I still canot get verizon to work. I contacted verizon and was told that I need to purchase an aggregator. Can anyone offer any advice regarding this and a little bit of information regarding an aggregator?
Thanks
Christy

If you would, please send your contact information to support at notepage dot com, that way we can go over your setup over the phone or by email since some of the information we'll be dealing with is sensitive in nature and shouldn't be posted to a public forum (your authentication information, specifically). |

Incidentally, I just found out the same info regarding ATT and SNPP that it requires the enterprise paging. The recipient can add it to their account for only $3.50 per month.
