We are on Notepager Net version 3.13. I need an explanation of a fix that occurs in a later build to see if it explains the issues we are experiencing now.
In the release notes for Version 3.6, there is this note under 3.5 Beta:
"Scheduler: Problem with scheduling future/repeating messages resolved"
What was the problem?
We are currently experiencing two issues:
A. Repeating Messages
Sometimes when sending a message (immediately, not scheduled), Notepager will send it repeatedly to the same recipients over and over again. This can be as much as five times in four minutes.
B. Scheduled Messages that are not set as repeating will send messages prematurely.
On 07/21/2009 19:54, the user sent a delayed page to a group for 07/22/2009 07:05. The page was then sent to the group at 07/21/2009 20:14 and again at 07/21/2009 20:16. The group then received the page again at 07/22/2009 07:05 (the correct scheduled time).
We obviously have an old version of the software, so I am trying to determine if there is a bad configuration on our part or if this is a bug that was fixed in a later version.

With the first issue you mentioned, that could be caused by a bug or it could be caused by the program thinking the message wasn't send due to an odd response from a host, then retrying the connection until it gets a proper response. Or it could be caused by a bug in the old version.
With the second issue, that one's a bug in the program.
I really would recommend upgrading to PageGate version 5. |
