I'ved tried all of the recommended settings and the connection to the carriers is always disconnecting. My carrier is AT&T.. Help.

Well, if I had to take a guess, I'd say that AT&T wasn't accepting connection requests from your network. Let's run a connection test, though, that may shed some light:

1) In Windows, go to Start - Run.

2) In the Run line, type the following and click OK: command

3) In the command prompt, type the following and hit enter:
telnet atlsmtp.cingularme.net 25

Let me know what happens when you do that.
