I have PageGate 8.3.

I am having a similar issue. My "Max Chars" are set to 1000.

I am pickup up a file and processing it. If the message is under 40 characters and has a "carriage return" after the message, we only get the time and date generated from Page Gate sent our text message. If there is not a "carriage return", short messages will be processed correctly.

OzCom, no they didn't. They only things they sent me was the above information and a screenshot of the "Add WCTP Connection" page. They believe I should use WCTP, however I'm not convinced that it will work with my "intrer-carrier code" since it is linked to SNPP. I have asked if this is the case and awaiting a response.

My next confusion comes with the Return URL, I have to assume it wants to point to my PageGate server?? I'm about ready to put a modem back online.

Verizon gave me the information below. Looks like my two options are SNPP and WCTP.

Update: Since my "inter-carrier code" is tied to SNPP, I'll need to get SNPP to work. --

Ok, any suggestions? How does "MSTATUS" work?

----From Verizon---
The answer is Yes, Emag supports retrieving of the messages but it depends on the protocol used.
Some protocols support "Pulling" some support "Push" Quick examples:

SNPP: Supports pulling for the most recent message only, via the "MSTATUS" command.
WCTP:Supports both push and pull.
XML:Supports pushing only.
SMTP:Supports pushing only.

Does anyone have the setup on how to use PageGate to check/receive messages from Verizon's EMAG?

I was using GetAscii with a Multitech modem before I switched to EMAG.

I am so sorry, I did not read your last reply correctly. I thought it said "..system does 'not' require the GETMAIL module" .

Thanks for clearing that up. I will purchase the GETMAIL module.

I get this in the global logs when I try to send a message to my cell modem and it gets rejected. The system is working properly and the message should be rejected by design. I just need an email when this does happen.

08/12/2015 9:37:09 AM PGSched Message scheduled. Recipient: replies from: +15130000000
08/12/2015 9:37:14 AM PGDial2 SUCCESSFUL Stn:7 To:replies Frm:+15130000000000 Msg:Test3
8/12/2015 9:37:16 AM PGGAscii Message rejected. Recipient: +15130000000000 from: paging@xxxxx.com

How do I trigger Page Gate to see my failurenotifylist.txt?

I wanted to try this out, so I created a 'failurenotifylist.txt' with just my email address in it. I also created a 'failure.mtp' and pasted the following:
Subject: Failed Message To %Recipient%

Message Info:
Recv: %RequestedDate% %RequestedTime%
Fail: %Date% %Time%
To: %Recipient%
From: %Sender%
Msg: %Message%

Both files are placed in C:\Program Files (x86)\NotePage\PageGate\
I am not receiving any error emails. Do I need the GetMail module or turn something else on?

Lon (sorry to hijack this thread, it seemed better than starting a new one)

Thanks, I got it working.

One of my issues was I trying to use 'c:\pagegate\ascii\' instead of my current {network} folder. It was picking up the files here, however it would not process them correctly and gave an error that pointed to the {network} folder, not sure why.

I started putting my test files into the network folder and they started working correctly, and removed the line in Advanced Polling Files that pointed to 'c:\pagegate\ascii\'

Well, I thought I was on the right track. Maybe I don't understand the 'Lookup Table". I changed my file to put the number in the TO: area.

I then put +5130000000 (my cell) number in the 'Data In' side of the table and put my group in the 'Data Out'.

TO: +15130000000
FROM: Test
MSG: Test13

Trying to mirror our current working messages that get sent out.

Text file now has the "From" cell number included. I'm ready for the next step in the process, sending to the correct group based on the "FROM" cell number.

This is my sample file:

From = +15130000000
Test6

Thanks for the information, it is now making the file. However the file only contains text of the message. I need it to also contain the number of who sent it. I have read the templates section, however it is not very clear.

I attempted to put From = %Sender% in the Settings box of the Carrier-FilesReply, no change in the file.

I need another nudge. :)

I have a GSM-AT modem working. It sends and receives text messages. I currently have the 2-way connector to put it into my email.

If I understand correctly, I can use ASCII to resend those messages back out and filtered on the phone number it was sent from? I just don't understand how to do this. Any suggestions?

I tried to send those commands, however I never got a response from any of the AT commands. I'm guessing that I don't really have a "real" serial connection.

When PageGate sends something to that serial port, I get the following:

07/27/2015 1:52:15 PM ========================================
07/27/2015 1:52:15 PM Start connection to carrier: CellPhoneText

I guess it is time to start looking for a Multitech GSM device. If anyone has a unit that works well, please share you model number.

Thanks for your assistance,

Lon

I'm having a few issues and I'd like some feedback on and your experiences. Also, has anyone gotten an off-the-shelf phone to work?

I have a Samsung Galexy S4 Active on AT&T Mobile.
Windows Server 2012R2
Downloaded Samsung USB Driver for Mobile Phones
It is active on COM3.

I used 'Visual Basic Terminal' to do a simple 'AT' command to get an 'OK' and I did not get it. I also tried Hyperterminal and it also failed to produce an 'OK'.

When I go into the Control Panel/Phone and Modem/Diagnostics/Query Modem, I get:
ATQ0V1E0 -
AT+GMM - AT+GMM
SAMSUNG-SGH-I537
AT+FCLASS=? -
AT#CLS=? -
AT+GCI? -
AT+GCI=? -
ATI1 - I537UCUCOC6
ATI2 -
ATI3 -
ATI4 -
ATI5 -
ATI6 -
ATI7 -
ATQ0V1E0 -

So it appears to be responding to Windows. Should I try a different driver? Different phone? Do I need DUN installed on the phone? (I did this too)
