Reinstalling with the Administrator account resulted in the same issue. The proxy settings worked in application mode, not in aervice mode.

I did more digging with Procmon and found that in service mode PageGate tries to use the settings in the registry at HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Connections

Since this is not an easily edited field, I exported the settings from a working account and put them in the .DEFAULT hive and it seems to work.

It would be a lot nicer if PageGate included a UI to change the proxy settings, especially for service mode.

I wouldn't think that would matter (especially on a Windows 7 machine where Administrator is by default disabled). When I get a chance I will try it.

I think you are missing my point:

a) It worked one week and stopped the next

b) The DNS isn't resolving to a host name. The only difference subscribing to Enterprise Message would make is that I could use the separate wctp.att.net address. That won't fix wctp.attws.net.

That seems to be true for Application mode, but when I switch to Windows Service mode it stops using the proxy. I'm letting the service run as the default user (I'm not entering a user when prompted by PageGate).

We are evaluating the PageGate software. Last week I ran a test with wctp.attws.net/wctp and could successfully send messages to my phone. This week, however, it seems that the wctp.attws.net domain isn't resolving in DNS:

$ nslookup wctp.attws.net 8.8.8.8
Server: 8.8.8.8
Address: 8.8.8.8#53

** server can't find wctp.attws.net: NXDOMAIN

The wctp.att.net address does resolve, but it rejects my phone because we haven't subscribed to the enterprise messaging service.

Does anyone have an insight into the status of attws.net and/or another address that I can use? We'll probably fall back to SMTP if we can't get this to work, but the wctp seems to work better.

We are currently evaluating the PageGate software. Is there a way to configure a proxy server for wctp communication when running PageGate in Windows Service mode?

I'm currently testing on a Windows 7 machine, but I believe the machine we would run the software on is a Windows 2003 machine. I can get wctp working if I put the test machine outside of the proxy, but I can't seem to get it to work inside the proxy.

It looks like your log is a summary, if you will enter the PG on the management server to record - "Settings" section.

If you want to. Please show this log Zetron ask, why all other transactions are to receive checksum error.
