Dear Support,

Sorry it has taken so long to get reply, but it has taken a while to troubleshoot this problem and come up with some consistency.

I have followed all instructions mentioned so far multiple times with only some success. At this point, if I run the application as an administrator (right click / run as administrator) then it seems to work fine.

What is occurring is that the application cannot see the database path and errors out.

I have a mapped drive "O" that is fully accessible from this workstation by the user logged into the server. Even opening the PageGate folder with either "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer" and THEN launching the application makes no difference.

I have tried setting up the application with both a mapped drive and using a UNC path with the same results.

I canot believe I am the only one having this problem, so answering this on the forum might be helpful. But at the same time, we are interested in upgrading to priority support.

Thanks!

Steve

Hi All!

We have added a Windows 7 Professional computer to the network. PageGate Client seems to have installed properly and initial tests were fine.

Now we are finding that there are frequent failures for pages sent from THAT workstation ONLY. I thought we added the correct ports to the firewall, but perhaps not. But the really odd thing is that only some pages fail -- this inconsistency adds flavor to the problem!

Any ideas? We're sure the problem has something to do with Windows 7 but are not sure where to start.

Thanks!

Log files sent multiple times and to multiple email addresses.

Have you received them? Do you need more?

Thank you for your help.

The entire package is installed at the Server, so this is a Client / Server implementation.'

OK, will do. Let me know if you find anything of interest in the Log files I sent you.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the error message referencing TIME being out of sync is caused by the PageGate service having already stopped.

Thank you!

I am attaching log files.

In looking at the PageGate Services "login" information, there is a difference, all of which is "default" from the original installation.

PageGate Connector1 is "DOMAINNAME"\administrator
PageGate Scheduler is "DOMAINNAME"\administrator
PageGate is .\administrator

Where "DOMAINNAME" is the actual Domain Name of the network that this 2008 Server services in Active Directory.

This just does not look right to me. It seems to me that all of the services should be the same, and that the first two listed above are most likely correct. Please advise.

Attachments to follow.

Thank you!

I see nothing here, but certainly will do.

One other question comes to mind.

What should the "login" for the PageGate Servicesbe? Should the user be "Administrator" for the Domain?

Thanks!

Dear Tech Support,

The times that the service fails does not, at this point, appear to be consistent with midnight, but I cannot be postive at this point.

In answer to your question, 5.0.0.92 is both the "file version" and the "product version."

Could the problem be related to Windows 2008?

Thank you!

I am having periodic problems with PageGate, where the services are shutting down, requiring a manual intervention of either rebooting the server, or starting the services.

Here is the error that appears when the problem appears:

"Unable to synchronize time with the scheduler. Using local time"

The server is Windows 2008 Server, 32-bit with 4 GB of RAM and plenty of "swap" space, with all of the latest Service Packs and Windows Updates. The Clients are all Windows XP-Pro, SP3 with all of the latest updates.

The Server was installed this past summer, and fully implemented in August. I don't remember the first time this appeared, but not immediately. We have since had several more incidents, with two in the last week alone.

Where do I start? is the "synchronization" problem with the 2008 Server and PageGate, or the Internet Time Servers, or the XP Workstation?

Thank you!

If I am understanding you, then this makes no sense!

This means that I need to have a valid email on the domain for every user sending pages. PLUS I would need to set up a separate Carrier for each "sender" so that the authentication is set to match every email address.

This cannot be correct.

Neverthelese, by removing the %LoginName% from the client side, and putting in something generic (like WXYZ) the pages are working consistently. But this was not what the client really wanted. They would like to be able to see who is sending the pages.

Sent new log and email.

We are still having issues sending SMTP with some user names and not others.

Have changed the "ID" sent for all Work Stations so user name does not come up, and so far, so good. But I'd like to isolate the cause for these failures so they can be resolved and don't come back to haunt us later.

thank you!

I am now testing Page Gate and still having issues trying to page to Verizon.

It looks like we are authenticating with our local ISP but it is failing at the Verizon end.

Can someone from tech support call me please? You already have my contact information.

Looks like we are already running versikon 3. No change with Download.

Is there a Document or White Paper that details SMTP setup for your program?

Does your network version support authentication, especially to a single account, allowing pass through of SMTP traffic?

Thank you!

I would like same specifics, if you please.

Trying to sort out settings versus authentication issues.

Once I am sure I have all of the setup correct, may be a work around with extra options in firewall.
