After several weeks of research changing hardware, and upgrading pagegate, the issue continued. MultiTech support advised it wasn't a hardware problem, it was related to the network. What was strange was that messages would sometimes work, and we had a rather large stretch during the holidays. When the problem occurs my Verizon phone never receives the message, but my AT&T phone receives the message four times. (Error Count is Set to 3) Verizon advised that their network is flagging the account as SPAM and denying the SMS messages, and we need to sign up for Enterprise Messaging.

Ok, it was out of warranty so we just replaced the device and now everything is working properly. Thanks for the response.

Our system just began sending duplicate messages. When I watch the connector log everything seems fine except it pauses after the message entry then after 30-45 seconds returns
"Received: <CR><LF>+CMS ERROR:3<VR><LF>" Sometimes the messages is delivered with the error but then repeats the process several times resulting in duplicate messages to the receipt. Sometimes its only 4 duplicates others its 10. I've moved the modem and the signal shows 21,99 and replaced the USB cable with the same results. I haven't found anything posted regarding error 3, so I figured I would follow up with the group. We're running version 8.0 with a Multi-Tech MTC usb cell modem for SMS. |

We purchased the modem and successfully sent sms messages via the device. We have three connectors and connector 1 was setup as described and connectors 2 and 3 are modems for TAP messages. It seems that if we have multiple SMS recipients the system tries to use connectors 2 and 3 and goes into a loop. Is there a work around for this behavior or did I do something wrong?

We’re looking at using a cellular USB modem to directly send pagegate messages. We would like this to be the primary path and fail-over to TAP, SMTP, etc depending on the carrier. Also with the added device would it be possible to receive SMS messages sent to the modem in the client? Looking online I only find limited documentation describes this process but seems to indicate it’s possible. Anyone using the application in this fashion and can provide recommendations on the modem hardware and setup?
Thanks in advance, Rich Bessette |

Within the last few weeks Nextel SNPP messages are failing. We have been sending these messages successfully for several years now. Port 444 is open on the firewall, and I'm able to successfully telnet snpp.nextel.com via port 444 successfully. The logs are not very specific, just within seconds state "FAILED" with station, recipient, and message info. We haven't had any changes except for adding and deleting new recipients.
Has Nextel been known to block specific public IP addresses? Any ideas? |

Well I added the user name and password but still receive the same message when sending "Message not Accepted". Its really strange becuase I'm able to send email just fine using Outlook with or without authentication.

I want to be able to send messages via SMTP from pagegate. Our ISP doesn’t allow non-authenticated SMTP messages. I can't seems to find any settings to add SMTP server authentication, and don't even think its an option. If that’s not possible what are some alternatives we can do to send messages via email. The server is running on Windows XP Pro .

I just upgraded from v4 to v5 and now do not have correct user login info. In v4 I only was required to input a password, no user name. My password is correct but dosn't work with v5.
