How is enabling (or install) GetAscii module?
we have a win 2003 server that has been installed solarwinds orion 7.8 on it. we want use pagegate software as sms sending software that send solarwinds alarms.

Dear all,
We want send alarms in our monitoring system (solarwinds) by sms. We have orion network performance monitoring v7.8. We can use only GSMAT protocol (with GSM modem) to send sms by notepager pro 32 software. We have one problem:

The monitoring server is located in a special server room that coverage of GSM signals is bad and gsm modem can not detect simcard. Gsm modem is connected by serial (RS232) port to server. Nearest place that has good coverage is about 40meter far. Is there any solution about this problem?
For example sending output messages of solarwinds through network and then getting these messages from another client that is located in good coverage (and in same LAN with server), send by notepager and gsm modem that is connected to it. Or another solution that you think is good for this situation.

In SNPP, or WCTP protocol, communication must be do by internet? Can be do by interanet no internet?

I have some questions. It is high appreciated to answer these questions:
1.What is exact meaning of carrier? A mobile operator has many different technical parts such as MSC, BSC, SMS Cenetr(SMSC),….

2.In sending sms through notepage pro by TAP protocol, need modem and telephone number of carrier side for connect to it. Can you explain that modem and phone number is for which nodes in a mobile network of a mobile operator?(SMSC,MSC,..)

3- How I can set username and password for this connection? In TAP setting there is only password section no username.

4-If I want to use SNPP protocol, which nodes of mobile network must be support these protocol? (SMS Center,….)
