| Not sure if this is still active, but I have worked my way around this solution myself.
Each user is entered into Pagegate under their own name. Then a set of groups are created based upon the priority of receiving the page. Juat make sure that alpha numerically, the groups fall in line (so 1...2...3 , A...B...C... and any mix). Then a parent group is created and the priority groups placed in it. See below for example. Parent Group .....1st Priority Group .........Jane .........Tom .....2nd Priority Group .........Dave .........Julia .........Sam .....3rd Priority Group .........Adam .........Terry The pages will be sent in the order above. These priority groups can be organized by any criteria you want; protocols, carriers, rank or any othe needs you specifically have. Hope this helps |

| Is there anyway to use LDAP to allow internal emails sent via PageGate to resolve to our internal Lotus Notes SMTP relay rather than going outside and coming back into the network.
If I put someone@my-company.com , the message goes outside the network and tries hitting 6 servers coming back in so it is extremely slow and inefficient. If I set it to relay all SMTP messages, it resolve in one hop. However, setting it to relay all SMTP messages through our mail server defeats the purpose of us using the software to notify us when a system is down (especially if it is a mail server). I want the pages for our external devices (cell phones and pagers) to connect directly to the service provider using SMTP like it does now, but not have email destined for inside the company to leave the company and come back in trying 6 servers before finding the correct SMTP server. Our goal is to be able to send out mass alerts to include emails and pages during specific events ======================================== 1/14/2009 8:46:44 AM Start connection to carrier: VERIZONPhone 1/14/2009 8:46:44 AM Sending via SMTP 1/14/2009 8:46:44 AM ---------------------------------------- 1/14/2009 8:46:44 AM Working on message to: cell_mine from: cell_mine 1/14/2009 8:46:44 AM Formatting message 1/14/2009 8:46:44 AM Message contained in single packet 1/14/2009 8:46:44 AM Looking up mailserver for vtext.com 1/14/2009 8:46:44 AM Trying host: smtp-bb.vtext.com 1/14/2009 8:46:45 AM Connected to: smtp-bb.vtext.com 1/14/2009 8:46:46 AM Sending message 1/14/2009 8:46:47 AM Message sent 1/14/2009 8:46:47 AM Closing connection 1/14/2009 8:46:47 AM Disconnected 1/14/2009 8:46:47 AM SUCCESSFUL Stn:0 To:cell_mine Frm:cell_mine Msg:Testing 1/14/2009 8:47:22 AM ======================================== 1/14/2009 8:47:22 AM Start connection to carrier: LotusNotes 1/14/2009 8:47:22 AM Sending via SMTP 1/14/2009 8:47:22 AM ---------------------------------------- ... |
