Hey guys I’m using PageGate 5.1.0 (LOVE IT) anyway iv started playing around with the 2 way settings which will receive a sms and forward it as a sms or a email.

Anyway when I configure the 2way option and choose a Reply Recipient (ie a specifc phone number) the feature works perfectly
When I choose a group I get the error “Message Rejected. Recipient : “GROUP NAME from +Phone number.

Has anyone tried this feature sending inbound messages to people within a group ?

What’s interesting is the email address associated with the group forwards the sms as a email, but what I would really like the software to do is forward the msg to everyone within the group as a sms.

HI guys to give you a quick update I think I solved the problem.

Turns out the GSM modem didn’t have enough reception and couldn’t send a sms not because notepage was making errors.. it was because the GSM modem was not connected to my provider !!

It seems the random times of it working and not working had nothing to do with notepage but more to the point of the reception the GSM modem had.. now the modem sits on top of a rack instead of inside a rack and it seems 1000% better !

More errors…. Iv tried to reinstall 5.09 and set everything from starch… set the int sting to auto and all it did was come up with lots of errors in the connector 1 log window…

Hi guys I’m using pagegate version 5.1.0 with a MultiTech MTCBA-GF4 GSM Modem connected directly to the com port 1 on the server. When it works.. it works great.. but every now and then it randomly stops working and I get the following errors….

Received:<CR><LF>ERROR<CR><LF>
Error sending packet
Message retry limit reached
FAILED Stn:0
Program Halted. Database error: 3144 Syntax error in UPDATE statement.

Or the more typical error
Sending packet
Sent AT+CMGS=”+XXXXXXXXXX”<CR>
Received<CR><LF>>
Sent:test<SUB>
Received:<CR><LF>ERROR<CR><LF>
Error sending packet
Attempting to hangup Modem

Typically I need to reboot the server several times and change the int string from blank to auto.. back to blank and then reboot a few times and it magically starts to work again… its such a random problem with a random fix…. Anyone have any idea its really driving me crazy as pagegate is turning into a application I just can’t trust…

If I stop the program and load up hyper terminal the modem responds to a “AT” command so I assume the communication between the modem and the server is fine.

Any help would be great !!

Hi guys is there anyway to clear messages from the pending box ? ie if you have lots of messages qued up sending lots of sms's messages how can you just remove all messages which are pending thus stopping any more sms messages being sent.

Hey guys

Iv been playing around with notepager pro and thinking of buying it but I have a concern over the speed it takes to send messages.
For each sms it sends it does a attempting to reset modem command which takes 10 to 12 seconds.

Is there anyway of removing this re set modem command which occurs every time you try and send a sms ? as when you use the software to send a few sms’s out quickly the delay is very annoying
On a side note I tried using this software with a wavecom serial GSM modem and had no luck, I had to swap to a GSM USB 3G modem and it worked fine…. I tried and tried and tried to make the wavecom GSM modem work but it just wouldn’t work… it ie just would keep doing a sent AT <CR> again.. and again… like lots of people have reported …. (yet AT commands work perfectly in hyper terminal)

Anyway if you know of a GSM device that can send SMS quickly or how to fine tune the notepager pro software please let me know ASAP
