PostForum: PageGate Support   Posted: Fri Mar 04, 2011 9:13 am   Subject: PageGate v5 and Windows 7 64bit OS
Question: I currently have PageGate v5 working successfully with Win7 32bit OS's. The balance of our department PC's will be Win7 64bit..., any complications with PageGate working with Win7 64bit OS's? Thanks!

To clear this problem, I elected to move the PageGate server from its previous WinXP to a Win7 PC and relocated the database from its previous network location to the Win7 PC. Backup DB copies are auto-created every evening. Now all PageClients access the DB via a shared configuration with the Win7 PC. Thanks for all your inputs on this original trouble case!

That's correct, no pages were generated on the 12th or 13th.
After opening up a client, yes, the day/time indicator does change to red, less than a minute after opening up the client and connecting to the DB server.
No errors are generated while a client program is active and thus far, any pages initiated, are sent successfully, even though the day/time indicator is the color red or not.
Question: Where do the client program page status indicators originate their information and since the day/time indicator changing to red has no apparent bearing on a page being successfully sent, where is this status information being generated from?...The client's local root program files or from the PageGate server's DB network folder?
Thanks!

Program use over the weekend was minimal, but no errors noted. Again, the program works, it just does not show the user client the status of a sent message.

The clients point to a network drive location where the PageGate DB resides. I can view PageGate's MDB file on this network drive with no problems as this is where I can go to verify if a page was successfully sent. Are there thoughts that there may be a problem with the PageGate folder information at this network drive location?

Thanks for the reply. We're running version 5. As I had already left for the day, I will forward the log files first thing Monday morning. Thanks.

Our PageGate client programs now do not show page status. When initiating a page, the Send button will respond, but the pending, sent, and bad indicators do not show the page status. The page does send successfully, but no status is indicated. Also, the date/time indicator turns 'red' as the page is apparently being sent. Any thoughts as to why this has occurred. Our PageGate system has been in service since 2004, so this is not a new installation. Any assistance is certainly appreciated. Thanks!

PostForum: PageGate Support   Posted: Wed Apr 28, 2010 2:17 pm   Subject: Win7 and error code 3356.
Good Afternoon, I receive error 3356 when attempting to send a page via the client program on a Win7 PC. The client program loaded just fine (via 'run as administrator') and when setting up the client to access the network data base, no problems are encountered. Then I open the client, view the users, via the client, on the network DB file, then chose one for a test page. This is when I receive the error 3356 message and the page then does not complete. Our department has been using PageGate with our WinXP PC's for several years now and since we need to update our PC's to Win7, I need to work through these issues to achieve a working configuration. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks!

Good Morning, I have PageGate working on Win7 "locally as a service" (local PC page assignments complete successfully), but when I change the PageGate Admin database assignment to the network copy of the PageGate database, I cannot get the PageGate service started and receive an error 1053. The program is set to 'run as administrator', but the service still will not start. Any thoughts? Thanks!

FYI, the mail in and mail out folders were missing from the PageGate DB folder. Installed a backed up copy of this folder to restore these two missing folders.

Additional information: The email function in PageGate is not used in our installation, so I do not know why this error is even showing itself. Thanks.

Hello, Now I receive this error (unable to create mail folders) when using our 'live' PageGate DB' for Win XP (a different PC with PageGate Server 5.0 running). I loaded the backup PageGate DB, but this error continues to show whenever I attempt to login to PageGate Admin. I still can send pages via the PageGate Client. Please let me know how to correct for this mail folder error. Thanks.
