OzCom:thanks for the suggestion. We are using the pager system as a critical last line notification, that is why we need TAP.

Tech Support: Is the direct connect used for external modems? The Multitech I have is using a serial connection. However, modem scan with pagegate does not pick it up. It does show in device manager as being on com1. The diagnostics successfully query the modem and I have tested it as working.

Here is the log with the corrected settings
I have tried init string auto under carriers, and connectors

Hi,
I am evaluating Pagegate for my company. I have a multitech external modem MT5634ZBAV-V92 connected to a windows 2008 r2 server. I need for pagegate to send a page to our pager(American Messaging).

I have the TAP number from american messaging and configured it as follows under carrier
baud 2400
parity none
data bits 8
stop bits 1
init string ATE0

I have another monitoring solution that uses the exact settings for the pager company. The only difference is its on another server.

The modem will successfully dial from this computer to the TAP number via hyper terminal.

However, I cannot get pagegate to successfully connect. I have attached the log from the connector. The modem never gets past protocol initialization.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
