| Thanks for the answer. Is it overkill to have two MultiTech cellular modems, say one for Sprint and one for Verizon? | |

| Second question - will I be able to send SMS text pages using the MultiTech cellular modem on the Verizon CDMA network? | |

| The SMS cell phones I'm trying to send SMS text pages to are Verizon Treo 700wx. When I test from the command prompt on Win XP sp3 with telnet smtp-bb.vtext.com 25, I get a 554 error with Connection to Host lost.
I'm using 45.sub-75-218-125.myvzw.com as my IP - tethered with PDAnet. I can get SNPP to American Paging to work on the same connection, but so far the Verizon SMS gateway doesn't work. I also tried 10digitphonenumber@myvzw.com same results. I am still on my 30 day eval, but using SMS for text paging is critical. I should have the firewall open Friday so I can test using ethernet instead of tethered USB. The firewall has a tested public IP address that should not be blacklisted. Any ideas? |
