how do you put a space in between each variable to make it more readable on the message?

running the trial version

ok i got this all working but found another hitch. i have a group created in pagegate that has 2 members. when i test the alert it only wants to go to the first member listed. the ones below dont get the alert

yep i got it. at the moment i am stuck trying to figure out how to assign the alert i created in npm to a device in npm. i have looked at every option i see.

it does not seem to want to insert the variables. this is the line i have in there.

C:\PageGateData\ascii\sendpage32.exe telecom {DNS}${IP_Address}${Status}

I dont even get the alert on the phone. I have tried the following line and I get the alert

C:\PageGateData\ascii\sendpage32.exe telecom NPM down

This line I get the alert but the alert just says NPM:down no device name even though I am testing with a device in npm

ok did that and the message came through but it does not fill in the device name or ip address. Can I make that read that dynamically?

ok, I can have the pagegate side setup. on the npm side i have the new action to execute the file setup. Not sure how to pass the info.

but would that not only allow me to send to 1 group? i have multiple groups I need to create

you mean create the recipient group in npm? I have found email groups but not anything to create groups for the logging.

right now static but i would assume i need dynamic. just not sure how to set that up to make it read a group

i have it set to log alert to hpnpm.txt

then under that i have the following

alert log file:C:\PageGateData\ascii\hpnpm.txt
message to log when triggered:Alert: ${NodeName} is ${Status}.
message to log wehn reset:Reset: ${NodeName} is ${Status}

i have it sending the dns name, ip address, and status of the node

right now i just have 1 alert setup to send to a text file on the npm server for pagegate to grab. just the log alert option

ok, i see in npm how to send to email groups but since I am sending it to a text file how do I accomplish the groups? not seeing anything on the support forums on solarwinds for this
