Tech Support was able to get this resolved for us. The problem was that we did not format the recipient field in our third party interface correctly. For the SMTP relay to send messages to a pagegate recipient (which then went out as a page, and SMS/Email) we had to use the following format: <pagegate recipient's mailbox name>@<domain name>

In our case the mailboxes looked like this:

lastname_firstname@domain.com

Once that was configured properly in our interface the user authenticated correctly and the message was delivered to their pager!

Thank you all for assistance!

Greeting,

We are trying to configure a third party paging interface to Pagegate V5.0 and are revieving a "535 Authentication failed" error when we try to send a test message to the Pagegate Server.

The Pagegate Server is running V5.0 on a Windows XP SP3 machine. We have successfully connected this interface to other servers using these credentials but cannot get this connection to authenticate. Below is a sample of the log file with the error codes (some information has been sanitized, and replaced with generic info):

Will the version 4 clients be able to interact with the version 5 server? I don't want to do this long term, but I'd like to know if paging will be unavailable until the client v5.0 is installed. Thanks for the advice.

Hello all,

This is my first post. We recently purchased Pagegate V5.0 and are looking at upgrading from V4.09. Are there any known issues with this upgrade? Can we install over the existing installation or would it be more advisable to uninstall/reinstall the upgrade? The server is on a Windows XP SP2 box.

Thanks for any advise you can give,
