| Actually, I did something very similar to your second suggestion. I created an "Email Only" user. In the user's config, I have it set to auto forward a copy to his GroupWise account. I then sent a couple of SMTP messages to it, which were accepted by PageGate. Unfortunately, none of these messages ever made it to GroupWise.
Another strange thing I've noticed is that even though I've created a mail only type user, the "Mailboxes" folder is empty. I've specified a relay host, and DNS entries and tried it with "Relay all mail" both checked and unchecked. Still no joy. I'm sure it'e something I've misconfigured, but I can't seem to find what it is. |

| We have an ERP-type system that is capable of generating email automatically for system health updates to admins and emergency errors. Prior to our installation of PageGate, all messages outbound from this system were relayed through the SMTP server built into our GroupWise email system.
We'd like to send page messages out through PageGate, but still use the GroupWise SMTP for relay of text-based emails. My initial thought would be to filter by destination domain from GroupWise, but apparently our system is not capable of doing this. My next thought was to have all messages from the ERP system sent to PageGate, which could take the SMTP messages that were destined for pagers and send them out over a dialer, and relay the text based emails to our GroupWise server. If I connect to the SMTP interface in PageGate, and manually send an email addressed to <pagerid>@<mypagingdomainname.com>, the server accepts it and delivers it to the destination pager. However when I address a message to any OTHER domain than our paging domain name, it's rejected with the '550 This server doesn't relay' message. I've turned on and off the checkbox that says "Relay all mail" and specified DNS servers and a default relay host IP, but this doesn't seem to help. What am I doing wrong, and can PageGate actually perform this way? Thanks, Jeff Kodysz Akron General Medical Center Akron, OH 330-344-1020 jkodysz@agmc.org |

| Thanks! That was it! Actually, you're right. It is a bit confusing.
If I have several messaging services I need to send to, some preferring SNPP and some WCTP, will I need to run an additional dialer for each of them? |

| Hi,
I've just finished installing the PageGate 4.0 demo version at our site for eval purposes. It's running on a Windows 2000 workstation. I believe everything is set up the way it should be, but for whatever reason, all pages I send from the GUI are accepted, but they continually show as pending and are not delivered. So far, the GUI is the only interface I have set up. It does not matter whether I configure the Messaging service to use SNPP pr WCTP, it doesn't send them. We're using both USA Mobility and American Messaging as clients. I have the WCTP and SNPP settings correct, as I can page via these protocols from a different program running on the same workstation. I keep seeing folks posting connection logs, but I'm not able to locate these logs in my system. All I see are the message status logs internal to the modules. Are these logs specific to dial-up? (which I'm not using) I have restarted the PageGate Server several times and this has not helped. Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |
