At last I had success on making this work. The modem which I was using was paradyne (6-7 year old) which works fine with Cisco routers. But it may have some settings which may not work fine with this program. So I changed it with a newer US robotics external fax modem and worked on first attempt.

Just realized that my previous posting went as guest. So adding again using my ID.

It finds init string AT&FQ0V1X4&D2 for both 1200 and 2400 Buad. But it connects only at 300 Baud.

Do I need to change something on my modem?

Can someone help on this? I am trying to send txt message to my Verizon cell phone using TAP. Other settings are as below.
phone numer 918668230501 (I have to use 9 to dial out)
Baud rate 1200
data bits 7
Parity even
Stop bits 1
