Is there a way to make the smtp password show in the debug log? Currently the log just shows "<password>" instead of the actual text sent to the smtp server.

That really doesn't make sense.

You say that when Carrier-A fails, the message is then marked for retry.

That 1 retry makes it go to Carrier-B. Okay, fine.

Carrier-B fails. Why do you show it going on to Carrier-C then?

Oh, maybe I misread your reply. You are showing it retrying A-A-B-B-C-C . Okay, that makes sense. I was thinking A-B-C-A-B-C.

Does a Carrier Failover count towards the Retry limit?

For example, I have retries = 1.

Send a message out through Carrier-A

The message follows this flow:

Carrier-A Failover = Carrier-B
Carrier-B Failover = Carrier-C

If all 3 carriers fail, will the message go Carrier-A, Carrier-B, Carrier-C, and then retry one time and go Carrier-A, Carrier-B, Carrier-C ?

Or will it stop after the first Carrier-B because of the Retry=1 limit?

AH! Perfect, thank you. I had been looking in the SMTP settings under interface, where the mail server is set.

That won't work, I'm trying to use SMTP as the Failover. So, the auth|pass already has a value for the carrier's primary SNPP connection.

It fails over fine to SMTP if it can't connect to SNPP... but it doesn't use the value from the auth|pass for SMTP and even if it did use that value, it would be incorrect.

So, knowing this, where do i enter the smtp credentials?

Thank you.

In PageGate 6, where do I put the SMTP user/pass?

I see where to put the smtp server in the relay field, but where do I put the username and password for the SMTP server?

I talked to Verizon. They said the 777 nuumber will always be used from now on. There is no way to go back to the way it was before.

Also, they said that the free TAP service would be discontinued sometime in 2013.

Actually, I just received this from Verizon:

Verizon plans to end free TAP messaging in 2013, but it will continue to be available with the paid EMAG service.

Does anyone know how long the free anonymous Verizon TAP service will remain active? It looks like Verizon is one of the only carriers left that has this service... and I don't imagaine it will be around forever.

Does anyone have any information regarding this?

I have user/pass from Verizon for SNPP and WCTP.

SNPP works fine, but WCTP does not work because PageGate doesn't put the username and password in the right spot.

Instead of taking the username and password from user|auth field, it takes the username from the "From" field and the password from the "user|auth" field.

The "From" field is always changing based on who is using the system, which is fine... but Pagegate is sending the "From" as the userid for the wctp system.

I need Pagegate to send the user and password from the user|auth field, and not from the "From" field.

Any suggestions???

This has started happening to me as well.

I am using Verizon TAP, so this has nothing to do with Enterprise Paging.

It is frusterating... because now my text messages all have a different "caller id number" so they don't get grouped together like they used to when they always arrived using my own phone number.

Does anyone know WHY Verizon made this change???

PostForum: Integration Related Questions   Posted: Sun Aug 05, 2012 1:49 pm   Subject: Direct Database Access during Cleanup Routine
Sometimes, PageGate gets stuck during midnight cleanup routine. There is nothing in the logs to indicate anything other than it is trying over and over to start.

The PGSched is in the "Starting..." state in services. Often, I can stop everything and restart and it is fine.

Here is the question:

Does the midnight cleanup routine require exclusive access to the mdb database? Would a third party integration that happens to write to the database during the cleanup routine cause PageGate to get stuck?

Is there anything else to watch out for related to this when accessing the database from a third party program?
