Well, the transaction in PageGate's connector log would let you know the date and time of any message sent to the AT&T gateway (and whether or not it was successful or if it failed). You could also run a report of sent messages as well.

So for instance, if for SMTP, I had:
2:19:34 PM ========================================
11/13/08 2:19:34 PM Start connection to carrier: SMTP
11/13/08 2:19:34 PM Sending via SMTP
11/13/08 2:19:34 PM ----------------------------------------
11/13/08 2:19:34 PM Working on message to: smtp4252142177 from: test@att.com
11/13/08 2:19:34 PM Formatting message
11/13/08 2:19:34 PM Message contained in single packet
11/13/08 2:19:34 PM Looking up mailserver for page.att.net
11/13/08 2:19:34 PM Trying host: page.att1.unimobile.com
11/13/08 2:19:34 PM Connected to: page.att1.unimobile.com
11/13/08 2:19:38 PM Sending message
11/13/08 2:19:38 PM Message sent
Would I consider it received at the Enterprise Paging gateway at 2:19:34 or 2:19:38?

Then for SNPP:
2:20:38 PM ========================================
11/13/08 2:20:38 PM Start connection to carrier: SNPP
11/13/08 2:20:38 PM Connect using SNPP protocol
11/13/08 2:20:39 PM Connected to Host (snpp.att.net:444)
11/13/08 2:20:39 PM SNPP Session Started
11/13/08 2:20:39 PM ----------------------------------------
11/13/08 2:20:39 PM Working on message to: snpp4252142177 from: 2222222222
11/13/08 2:20:39 PM Formatting message
11/13/08 2:20:39 PM Message contained in single packet
11/13/08 2:20:39 PM Sending message
11/13/08 2:20:42 PM Message sent
Would it be 2:20:39 or 2:20:42?

Then for WCTP:
2:21:32 PM ========================================
11/13/08 2:21:32 PM Start connection to carrie ...

Perfect! Our devices are subscribed to enterprise paging. Do you know how we can read the delivery receipts?

AT&T has notified me that we should be able to get delivery receipts for SMTP, WCTP, and SNPP pages sent to their paging gateways. Is there any way that PageGate can receive these receipts and we can determine when, and if, the page was received at the paging gateway?

That is not an option. We must schedule pages 24x7. Please fix.

Well, it just happened again, exactly the same way. So either we're very, very unlucky or there's something wrong with the way PageGate is restarting.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

We need to purchase an additional connector. I was just curious how it works. I assume we go to http://www.notepage.net/upgrade-order-forms.htm and select 1 additional connector. Do we need to enter our serial number in there even if we are already running version 5? Or do you guys find our previous order and send us out a new serial number that will have all the modules we've purchased?

Thanks!

We don't have anything external to PageGate that runs at midnight, but there's a decent chance that a page was scheduled at midnight. Could that have been using the database and have caused this problem?

Our web interface didn't restart last night (I just posted a message about that) and as a result we had 100s of pages get queued up and then delivered once we restarted the application.

Is there any way to limit the number of pages that get queued up?

Thanks!

We have PageGate running as a service along with 2 connectors and the web interface. Yesterday, at midnight, after it restarted, no pages were going through.

Weird stuff I noticed from the scheduler log:
8/15/2007 Initiating cleanup routines
8/15/2007 Module Stopped
8/15/2007 12:00:02 AM Module Started
8/15/2007 12:00:03 AM Running cleanup routine
8/15/2007 12:00:03 AM Waiting for server module to pause
8/15/2007 12:00:07 AM Server module paused
8/15/2007 12:00:07 AM Waiting for connectors to pause
8/15/2007 12:00:14 AM Connectors paused
8/15/2007 12:00:14 AM Waiting for interfaces to pause
8/15/2007 12:00:47 AM Timeout... continuing
8/15/2007 12:00:47 AM Attempting to compact database
8/15/2007 12:00:52 AM Database in use, unable to compact
8/15/2007 12:00:52 AM Trimming log files
8/15/2007 12:00:52 AM Checking database for null values
8/15/2007 12:00:52 AM Checking database for invalid group entries and dups
8/15/2007 12:00:52 AM Removing old messages from database
8/15/2007 12:00:52 AM Removing old files from badmsg folder
8/15/2007 12:00:52 AM Resetting database flags
8/15/2007 12:00:52 AM Module resumed

After this, the web interface (what we were using to send pages) never restarted. After we restarted the service, everything worked fine.

Any ideas?

Is there any way to decrease the number of times PageGate will retry?

Well crap. I was just looking through the logs myself and I saw this:
"Module stopped. Evaluation version run for 3 days."

I guess we need to purchase another connector.

Thanks!

Hi again,

We're running PageGate as a service along with the web interface and 3 connectors. Usually, everything restarts fine at midnight, but every few days, connector 2 does not restart. It's only connector 2 that does not start. I don't know if this is relevant, but connector 2 is a dedicated SNPP connector.

Any thoughts?
