We ended up getting around this by having each Droid user create a gmail account and integrate the mail account to the phone. Then, instead of sms/smtp we choose "email" in the settings and give it the gmail address. It's a little clumsy but so far it has worked for everyone who has done it.

Will do and I completely agree. i believe it is on the device side since the "sent messages" report shows the same thing going out for all members. That's why I was hoping someone else using droid phones had encountered it.

We use Page Gate interfaced to our CAD system to notify volunteer firefighters in case they are not close to their radio pagers at the time of a dispatch. Recently three of our firemen switched to Droid phones. They're telling me that in the last week or so they still get the pages but only the first 30 or 40 characters. Others in the same paging group with the same carrier but different devices are still getting full pages. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you fix it?

We use PageGate Version 5. Recently two new recipients were added to the system, both Verizon. They are configured exactly the same as the rest of the Verizon users, and the log file shows their messages as being successfully sent. However, the pages are not getting to the phones. I can sms text them directly from another cell phone with no problem, so the phones are text message capable. Any ideas?
