| Aaron youzgood!!
That was it. USA Mobility or whoever is running the Arch stuff gave us the wrong setting. They were a little less than helpful and the page they sent to have me test had a link to send a web page but the link was broken. I reported the link being down and they kept sending canned responses about my needing to contact my system admin as the problem was with the paging software. Needless to say I thanked them for their helpful response but again reported the steps taken to get an error with their web page. Oh well, what I need to work, works and I am happy camper. Thanks again for hanging in their with me. -Jester |

|
The trouble you're running into is that you're using the SMTP suffix for the WCTP host. If you'll make sure your recipient's ID/PIN is just the 10 digit pager number instead of the 10 digit number at archwireless.net it should go through just fine.
I tried using the 10 digit number and got similar results. 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM ==================================== 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM Start connection to carrier: NCC 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM Send using WCTP protocol 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM ------------------------------------------------ 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM Working on message to: Karla NCC from: DGP 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM Formatting message 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM Message contained in single packet 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM Sending message 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM Sent: 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM <?xml version="1.0"?> 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM <!DOCTYPE wctp-Operation SYSTEM "http://dtd.wctp.org/wctp-dtd-v1r1.dtd"> 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM <wctp-Operation wctpVersion="wctp-dtd-v1r1"> 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM <wctp-SubmitClientMessage> 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM <wctp-SubmitClientHeader submitTimestamp="2007-01-16T16:05:32"> 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM <wctp-ClientOriginator senderID="DGP@" /> 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM <wctp-ClientMessageControl preformatted="true" /> 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM <wctp-Recipient recipientID="8882102152" /> 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM </wctp-SubmitClientHeader> 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM <wctp-Payload> 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM <wctp-Alphanumeric>DGP:Test page, plumber on scene today.</wctp-Alphanumeric> 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM </wctp-Payload> 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM </wctp-SubmitClientMessage> 1/16/07 11:05:32 AM </wctp-Operation> 1/16/07 11:05:33 AM Recieved: 1/16/07 11:05:33 AM <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> 1/16/07 11:05:33 AM <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>The page cannot be found</TITLE> ... |

I am running NotePager32. If this version has the same problem will a new download and install correct this problem? Or was this WCTP issue limited to Pro? -Jester
I take that back. I see upon startup that the app identifies itself as NotePager Pro version 3.0. I will install Pro and see what happens. Thanks again, -Jester |

|
Those are the correct WCTP addresses for Arch/USA Mobility. Are you getting an "Invalid Response From Host" error?
Yes. I just looked in the NPP.LOG and that is what is shown.

| Anyone have WCTP info for Arch / USA Mobility?
I got a new laptop but don't seem to have made notes for setting up internet paging. I've plugged in the settings that I thought worked as found on the wctp.htm page as shown below. wctp.wirelesscontrol.net/wctp wctp.arch.com/wctp -Jester |

| The send button appears (maybe always appears but I am migrained in this morning) as END without the S. All other font display within NotePager Pro are fine.
I don't have any other apps or utilities which display fonts in this manner or with this strange appearance. I do not see a way to change font size withint the program and wonder if this is just reflecting a general Windows 98SE display setting. Anyone else have something similar? I can live with clicking "END" but this is an anomoly. Thanks, DGP |
