They is Sprint, I was advised that Sprint no longer stocks that SIM Card and the only SIM Card that matches on Amazon is $36.00 (FOR A SIM CARD)
Also I think the Modem was purchased at CDW-G, I had to go thru our Metro IT Dept. to order it so it was not up to me where it came from. |

As of this date I still have not gotten a working SIM Card for the Multitech Cellular Modem from Sprint.
Aaron, I gave them the information from the last entry and I was told thst they no longer support the SIMGLW206R SIM. They have sent me three different SIM cards and they either don't fit or are not supported. Not sure what to do at this stage. If anyone has any more ideas I would be open to try them. |

That is correct, the problem is that Sprint is saying they have never heard of a micro SIM card and they don't have them. I cannot be the only person in the world that has purchased this modem for Sprint. Thinks that make you go HHMMM???

Hi Everyone,
I have updated my Sprint Cellular Modem on one of my PageGate Servers. I had to because the old one is a serial device and new one is USB. The only modem I found from Multitech is the MTCM-LSP3-B03 and in the instruction booklet a sticker in the instructions says "Correction: The MTCM requires a 3FF micro SIM card, not the 2FF mini SIM listed." I contacted our Cellular Rep. and they advise that Sprint has no idea what a 3FF micro SIM card is. Now I cannot be the only person that has one of these Cellular Modems in the entire world. If anyone has one of these thru Sprint please let me know what you did to get it up and running. |

Hi Aaron, you remember when I was purchasing cellular modems, the first Company I went to was Verizon and I was told that they do NOT allow a modem attached to a server on their network. Has this changed? I had to settle with AT&T and Sprint.

I currently am setup with Sprint, Verizon and AT&T. Of the 3 AT&T is the only one that requires you to add their phones to the EMAG system before they will work. The other 2 you just enter your folks into PageGate and you are good to go!!

The Verizon Code can be fixed to the same number every time, because I just did it for my Agency and they are VERY happy. Log into your Verizon EMAG Site and click on "Connections" then click on "SNPP Connections". If you have added an SNPP connection then it should be listed there. Either create a connection or just click on the "Id" number. On the "Update SNPP Connection" screen the top field should be the "Fixed Code" field, click on the dropdown and choose a number and save it. Then try sending out Verizon pages, they should all us the same number each time.

We had the same issue here at our Center and I had a meeting with our local Verizon Wireless Rep. and she checked with Verizon and found out that Verizon would sign up our 911 Center with Verizon Emterprise Messaging at no cost. She sent me the paperwork and she got us setup. We are reliably sending messages to Verizon devices now using any protocol we choose. Currently we are using SNPP and it goes out very fast. Let me know if you are interested and I will send you the name of the Verizon Rep for your area.

This will be connecting to SVAPPS24 and I've already got the GetTAP module. According to the I/Page instructions it can use TAP or SNPP2 to send the information to the server, I'm still looking at that to see what I can do and what I will need.

That is great! I am very interested in getting this up and running here. I have read through some of the documentation but this is going into areas that I'm not familiar with. Is this something I can contact Support for?

Has anyone used PageGate with Intergraph CAD's I/Page Module. We are interested in using them together to send messages to Fire Units when they are dispatched. Just curious if you have got them working together, how does it work, ups, downs etc!!
Thanks for any information. |
