| Will any cell carriers block your IP if you send too many pages? We find that after sending a large number of pages often we are unable to connect to their SMTP servers for awhile. It is almost as if we are getting blacklisted. Does anyone else experience this and how do you manage it. I have hundreds of devices I am monitoring and if a major outage occurs I can send 300+ pages to various people.
I can use TAP but in sending large number of page it is too slow. |

| I have my paging now working through Page Gate using the Ascii and Mail interface (soon will be using Web too). I have a modem and want to set it up to send all pages via the modem if the network is down and SMTP fails. I was under the impression that I did not need to purchase the GetTap interface to do this. Sales told me that it was built into the application but I can't figure out how to set it up.
Any help? |

| Yes please do. We have a team of 6 or so people that rotate on call duties and this would be great.
What exactly does the on call functionality within advanced options do? I am not sure I understand. Does it mean that between certain hours that you specify the on call person is paged instead of the group members? |

| I am setting up the GetWeb interface. I would like to use the oncall feature but need to be able to set up some sort of reoccuring schedule. It seems with in the PG adming I can only select certain days of the week. I would like to say person A has the first week of every month or every 5 weeks etc. Is this possible? | |

| Is there a way within Page Gate's GetMail interface to limit what IPs it will accept SMTP connections from? | |

| OK I got it to work with Page Gate on a separate server. My next question is how do I get different alerts to go to different people using this method? It looks like Orion just dumps the alert in the ascii folder and then page gate grabs it. Do I need to set up a different file for each possible pagee? I would like to utilize groups here as well.
NM - I think I figured it out. |

| Has anyone gotten Page Gate to work with Orion when it is installed on a different server? Orion seems to want it on the same server. I can't figure out how to point it to the directory on a separate server. | |

| I have installed the trial Page Gate software on a test VM. I am trying to figure out how to integrate with Orion. How do I get Orion to send pages to the test install of Page Gate? Do they have to be installed on the same machine to work together? | |

| We currently use Orion NMS to monitor our network. I was sent to this site to look at paging solutions. Right now we use a home grown solution using Perl scripts. I am not sure which solution fits. My requirements:
- Multiple paging groups - Multiple cell phone providers (AT&T,Sprint,Verizon, Blackberry etc) - Paging based on time of day and or day of the week - Failover to a modem in case circuit is down - Simple interface would be a bonus - Able to send pages or emails Anything else would probably be bells and whistles. I see references to NotePage and PageGate with Solarwinds. It sounds like PageGate is a better solution. I have admins all over the US, in Canada and Manila that I would like paging for. Does PageGate work with Solarwinds or only NotePage? Also is there a trial I can download? I tried to follow the PageGate link to download off the Solarwinds integration page and it doesn't work. |
