Ah, those group capcodes are controlled by the paging terminal itself and should be configurable there (with zBase if you're using a Zetron terminal, for example).

Ah, that's a slightly different prospect and I need a little more information about how you have everything configured.

Which interfaces are you currently using and do you give the recipients names or are the names the cap codes? Also, same question for group names.

Unfortunately, there isn't an explicit list of recipient IDs that a group references, only the names of the recipients and then the recipients contain the capcodes in their settings.

However, if you open PG Admin and go to Recipients - Any Recipient - Groups, it should display which groups that recipient is contained within and that should make it a little easier to determine which cap codes are a part of which groups.

To do anything more complex than what StripNonPrintable does, you would need to use the PageGate Filter Pack. It is capable of doing all kinds of pattern matching, replacements, formatting, RegEx support, etc.

In order to use it you will need to be running PageGate version 10 and purchase the Filter Pack.

The subject delimiter variables you have specified are telling PageGate to look for a carriage return+line feed pair OR a carriage return OR a line feed and then treat everything before it as the subject parameter.

The number of characters the program searches for the subject delimiter(s) is controlled by the SubjectSearchLength value.

If you don't want PageGate to parse out subject parameters from the body of the message, I would recommend setting the following:
SubjectDelimiter = ~
SubjectSearchLength = 1

Are you using PageGate to try to message the Zetron terminal?

Joe,

PageGate's failovers will engage any time a protocol/message delivery sequence fails and a message can't be delivered. So, if a connection can't be made to a host on the requested port or if any error codes are returned during the protocol negotiation sequence, the failover system will engage.

For example, let's say we have two carriers called PrimaryServer and BackupServer.

Let's also say that we setup a failover from PrimaryServer to BackupServer.

If PrimaryServer doesn't respond at all, that would push messages into failover to BackupServer.

If PrimaryServer responds but issues any form of rejection or failure notice, that will still push messages into failover to the 'BackupServer' carrier.

As another example, let's say we have a recipient called joe_email and a group called FailoverNotifications. If the 'FailoverNotifications' recipient is set as the failover for the recipient 'joe_email', if any message to the 'joe_email' fails, it will be redirected to the FailoverNotfications group.

If you need anything else, please let us know!

We moved the templates into the main Admin application for PGv9. If you open PG Admin and go to the Program - Template section, you'll see the 'SubjectDefault' parameter to edit the text itself.

If you have %Subject% anywhere in the 'Text' section of the template, remove that and it should take that out of the body of the message.

Just to double check, what build of PG Admin is that workstation using?

To verify, browse in to the c:\Program Files (x86)\NotePage\PageGate Admin\ folder on the workstation and go into the properties of pgadmin.exe; the build number should be listed under the 'Details' tab.

Joe,

There are two different styles of failover in PageGate, one at the carrier level and one at the recipient level.

Carrier level failover
This Carrier level failover allows PageGate to automatically and seamlessly transition between communication methods in the event that it has trouble delivering a message.

As an example, let's say you're using a cellular modem to deliver your messages. You would probably also want to configure an internet based carrier that the cellular modem could fail over to in the event of hardware failure.

So, let's say that you're using a cellular modem and that you're also registered for Verizon's Enterprise Messaging Access Gateway (EMAG) WCTP API. You could have the cellular modem fail over to Verizon's EMAG WCTP host, so that in the event of hardware failure, your traffic still has a viable route of delivery available.

Recipient level failover
The Recipient level failover allows PageGate to automatically deliver a message to an alternate address, location or person in the event that the primary contact couldn't be messaged.

For example, let's say that we have John Smith's Cel and John Smith's Email as recipients in PageGate. We could have John Smith's Cel fail over to John Smith's Email or we could configure the reverse. By doing so, we're telling PageGate that if a message can't be delivered to John Smith's cell phone, that message should be delivered to his email instead or vice versa.

Based on what you're describing, it sounds like you want to set up a recipient level failover so if a message to someone's email fails, it redirects the message to their cell phone via SMS gateway.

Unfortunately, it means that extra colon is coming from the device and NotePager Pro isn't inserting it.

Ah, in NotePager Pro, browse in to the program directory and look for a file named global.mtp

If it exists, what are its' contents?
