I have tried this. I tried naming one Arch WCTP so that I could differentiate it between my Arch TAP but it said illegal characters in the name and would not take it.

I tried configuring for WCTP but noticed that I MUST enter the carrier as WCTP. This appears to be the same for SMTP and SNPP as well. My question is can I only have ONE WCTP carrier listed? If this is correct does that mean I can only have one carrier that is using WCTP? What do I do if I want to have all the different carriers under WCTP. Am I doing something wrong? When using TAP numbers it doesn't matte how many carriers I have.

OzCom,

Thanks for the offer. I think I am starting to figure out the program, and how it operates. I really only have one last question. With the choice of TAP, SNPP, WCTP and STMP which is best to use? I now understand that STMP is not the best to us as it is not time sensitive, hence slower, according to the http://notepager.com/smtp.htm. Our application is for notifying our HAZ MAT team. TAP may not be supported for cell phones. This leaves SNNP and WCTP. I presume that one of these is the best to use overall because it is quicker being internet and not dial up plus there is greater time sensitivity and it should support most all mediums, cell and pager. But which one?

Disregard my previous message, I realized it didn't make sense, and I have answered my own question.

I can choose some to be Internet and others to be dial up, or tmp, in the same group correct? Since these are two different methods, one using the modem, and the other my network card, can they also both operate at the same time?

Should the message type be normal or ad-hoc? Does it matter?

What is the advantage of setting up the software to work through the internet versus using dial up?

Is NotePager Pro v3.0 able to dial a phone number directly? We have some new people who have cell phones and blackberries and they would like the pages to go directly to these devices rather than carrying a separate pager. I have read that the software can do this but can not find out HOW to do this. We currently are on dial up service.
