It is also important to dig into why the messages end up in the bad folder. One of the more common reasons is that the recipient's carrier REJECTED the message for some reason. You should also set up a failover routine whereby the "bad message" is automatically sent to a different recipient (most of my installations have the messages sent to an admin email address with a template applied to clearly show who the original message was for. This helps when troubleshooting delivery issues since the admin gets timely notification of a failure)

The "Group CapCode" concept actually resides in the Paging Terminal. That CapCode has an "ID" (which was initially typically a unique DID or individual phone number associated with that CapCpde). In this way, a system or person could send a message to that ID and the paging Terminal would broadcast over the radio transmitter. ALL pagers/devices that had that common CapCode "burned" into memory would receive, decode, and display the message.
All PageGate does is send a message to a recipient ID via carrier or carriers. Group messaging in PageGate simply sends a copy of that message to every individual recipient who is a "member" of that group. They do not all need to use the same carrier. In a typical Public Safety solution - a group message (such as "All Hands Working Fire") can go to Pagers, cell phones, automated response systems (like Active911 or IAMResponding), e-mail addresses, even fax machines. Does this help clarify? |

It will work - but the RS-232 Serial is preferred to avoid the known Windows USB-COM port issues present in all Windows versions.

If they are marked as SUCCESSFUL in PageGate - that means that the Verizon Wireless EMAG system accepted responsibility for delivery. You should log into your management portal on the EMAG system and see what happened to the message. A very common cause of a failure from the EMAG out is because the recipient cell number has NOT been added to the list of potential recipients in the EMAG database. You also need to ensure that cross carrier delivery is activated by the Verizon Wireless system

It appears that PageGate connector cannot actually see the fax server over the network

OK - your Central Square CAD (formerly HTE/TriTech/Sunguard) is writing a file for each message to be "paged". Your PageGate's getASCII module is watching that file location and picking up every message created for processing.
You can configure the optional FilterPack module to dynamically modify the contents of that message (example - when it sees the word CANCEL in a specific spot, then change the destination to an archive file and NOT transmit to other recipients) Unless, of course, I misunderstood your request. If you are asking for a message that is already in the OUTBOUND message queue to be DELETED from the ist if a CANCEL message comes through - that is a but more difficult since PageGate processes them so fast. It is likely the message is already gone and delivered before the CANCEL order is sent from CAD |

Yes it is possible depending on the interfaces you have licensed. What method is your CAD using to "push" messages into PageGate (TAP, SNPP, ASCII, Direct Database Integration, SMTP, etc)?

What method of reception are you attempting (getASCII, getMAIL, getTAP, getSERIAL, SNPP)? Each of these are optional module licenses

Typically a network permission issue - make sure the user has full access across the network to the pagegatedata\database location

I know Support already handled this for you - but - if you are upgrading from v7 to v8, there is a utility built into the installation routine that performs the recipient/carrier/group modifications necessary between versions. This eliminates the need to export from v7 then import to v8

Additionally - for a direct RS-232 connection to the paging terminal - you will need a NULL modem cable or adaptor
