Additionally - for a direct RS-232 connection to the paging terminal - you will need a NULL modem cable or adaptor

We would need to see the connection log files to see the actual communication between NotepagerPro and the end carrier

Sorry to hear that. I'm not sure where you obtained that device, but it is not one I would recommend. You said "....I gave them the information from the last entry and I was told that they no longer support the SIMGLW206R..." -

is the "they" Sprint or your device supplier?

You may also want to research carriers - especially given the uncertainty with the upcoming Sprint and T-Mobile merger

If you control the pagers through your Zetron - the best way would be to program a Common CapCode in the pagers. Basically - this appears as a single identity or number to the terminal and EVERY pager with that ID programmed as a Common Cap will receive the message

Understood - the issue (at least in the US) is that the FCC FM licenses restrict what the transmitter can do

Amateur (also known as "Ham") radio will work when cellular networks fail - which is why emergency managers in North America and Europe include their use in disaster planning. With "Packet Radio" - it is possible to exchange text messages with other Ham operators. PageGate can easily be configured to interface with packet radio messaging systems.

With the optional getWEB interface licensed and configured, you will be able to send traffic from your InterfacePoint XML option of Northrup CAD to your PageGate for processing

This shows that you have very low signal:

AT+CSQ
+CSQ: 1,99

This shows that SMS Messaging is NOT allowed on the account or device:

AT+CMGF=1
ERROR

The SIMGLW206R should have been shipped with your modem - You should contact the vendor you purchased from. If that doesn't help - there are MANY of those cards available on Amazon - very low cost. Once you have it - you will need to work with your account rep to get it activated and provisioned on their network.

Hi Dan,

Not sure why your Verizon Rep told you that - I have many customers using cellular modems with their PageGate systems on the VZW network and have had for years. I do know that there were some issues years ago with the cellular network that Verizon purchased from Alltel due to hardware/software incompatibility - but those were long since resolved. That is what prompted my post - Verizon is deactivating their legacy CDMA system and moving to a complete LTE network.

Many of my Public Safety customers have also provisioned access between PageGate and the Verizon Enterprise Messaging system (their term is EMAG). In those cases, PageGate uses WCTP or SNPP to send messages into the cellular network as the primary transmission method but reverts to the cellular modems in the event the local internet connection goes down (because we both knwo that never happens, right?)

Just a reminder that Verizon Wireless will be shutting down its CDMA cellular networks on 12/31/19

If you are currently using a cellular modem for SMS and that device is subscribed to the Verizon CDMA network, your recipients will not receive messages through it after that date.

We carry a replacement device that will interface with your system and is approved on the Verizon LTE network.

These devices are available with USB or RS-232 Serial connection to your PageGate PC

Is your EMAG configured to accept SNPP traffic - When Verizon sets EMAG up, they must manually implement each inbound protocol, it does not accept SNPP by default. Alternatively, you can easily configure your PageGate to accept SNPP traffic from Tyler then use SMTP to deliver to EMAG - although delivery via SNPP or WCTP to EMAG is far more reliable
