Jason....Yes, you can choose the Database. Also, we have a number of tutorials, information, etc at http://www.notepage.net/video-tutorials.htm
Let us know if you have further questions. And in response to your other question Ok. So I have approximately 40 people I need to send messages to, so I would have to purchase the page gate for 50 users. Then in order for managers to send out messages I need to purchase 1 interface, like web GUI. Is this correct? The answer is also yes. I want to have 3 or 4 computers licensed to operate the program, but shared 1 database from my computer. When I install the program on the other pc's will it let me choose the database? I am using Notepager Pro currently. Jason |

With NotePager Pro or PageGate software, you can send text messages to mobiles in India.
'Carrier' refers to the recipient's mobile phone provider. If your computer or server uses an internet connection, you need to enter the mobile phone carrier and their SMTP, SNPP or WCTP setting into the software. More reliable options:
With an internet connection, PageGate supports SNPP and WCTP. Those cell phone provider's have requirements. Refer to: http://notepage.net/top-carrier-settings-for-sending-messages.htm You could have PageGate send messages out using a wireless cellular modem to the cell phones. PageGate requires the cellular modem to support the GSM's AT Command set. Connect the modem to your server using a USB or serial cable. The cellular modem needs SMS service from one of your local cell phone providers. |

Since port 25 or SMTP failed is closed, you may want to connect a cellular modem or mobile phone to your computer to send SMS with NotePager Pro. The modem or phone needs to support the GSM's AT Commands.
US mobile phone carriers restrict their SNPP settings: http://www.notepage.net/top-carrier-settings-for-sending-messages.htm |

With a serial modem and especially a USB cellular modem, you may want to consider using PageGate software instead.
PageGate has more robust support for cellular modems. PageGate also runs as a Windows Service, and isn't login dependent. Video: http://www.notepage.net/videos/orion-integration.htm Download a free trial of PageGate software: http://www.notepage.net/software.htm |

NotePage software supports cellular modems with the AT Commands. In NotePager Pro, this is listed in the carrier's Protocol drop-down list as GSM-AT. The cellular modem will need SMS or text messaging service from Verizon or another local carrier. People have found Multi-Tech cellular modems work well.
SNPP gateways only accept messages over an internet connection. Relying on cellular modems is better when using SolarWinds with NotePage software. Does your machine have a serial or USB connection for the modem? |
