Hello,
I am looking for opinions on monitoring and alerting software. What I've been exposed to so far either has not had any modem / TAP functionality, or has advertised this functionality but it has not worked with our Nextel phones. I downloaded NotePager 32 and was very pleased to see it work on my very first try. I'm assuming it would work the same in PageGate, and with that software I could set up more elaborate groups, rules and schedules for sending out alerts. What I would also like to ask is what monitoring software packages (beyond whats listed on the "integrations" link on the main page) have people successfully integrated with PageGate? I have a license for What's Up Professional (which I stopped using because TAP didn't work out of it), but am leaning more towards open source packages like Nagios. So, what's the scoop? Any feedback you can share would be greatly appreciated! - Justin |

Ok, it works. I successfully tested TAP using HyperTerm, following the instructions here:

The number I was using is 800-201-2501, as listed here: http://www.notepage.net/tap-phone-numbers-n.htm Looks like that page needs to be updated. Anyway, I'll try the new number and post my results. Thanks again! Justin |

Hello,
My company was successfully using What's Up Pro (from IPSwitch) to send text messages via a modem / TAP to our nextel phones. At some point it stopped working, and I'm trying to figure out why. Everything appears to work fine. I can send text messages to the phones either via the sprint website, or by smtp. TAP is the only thing that doesn't work. I've been told by Nextel customer service that my plan supports this service. My modem dials, connects, and appears to successfully send the message. It just never reaches my phone. A log of the process is below (with the last bit of my phone number X'd out; don't want any prank calls!): Loading action parameters for 'Page Justin'. Executing action 'Page Justin'. Initializing Action... Sending Pager Message...
