I had a questions from our Emergency Management people: Is there a way to automatically generate an RSS feed (with FeedForAll) from within PageGate? It would be an ideal way to reach the staff who do not carry a pager or SMS capable device.
PS - We use an open source RSS agent for Mozilla that hides when there is no source feed. It's a cheap and secure method to do alerts. |

"there are special purpose devices (such as the MultiTech Systems Cellular modems) that can do this"
As a side note, Verizon Wireless told us they do not support the Multitech gateway. I am currently using one on another carrier. Sending SMS across carriers is what I am trying to eliminate. I wil try using the AT command set via the serial port. |

We are considering broadcast messaging. Perhaps adding a leader or group cap code to the devices would be quicker? Especially if this is a code blue or other emergent medical situation. | |

I am using PageGate in a health care setting. For the group of employees that only carry a Verizon Blackberries, I would like to connect an Airlink Raven-X cellular modem on Verizon Wireless via another serial port. Any suggestions for configuring the Raven and the connector in Pagegate?
Messages sent via SMS would be considered a 'hot" or priority message, otherwise they are sent via the BES (email) Edit: Added text in red for clarity |
