Welcome to the NotePager Pro first time configuration
tutorial.
In this tutorial, we'll be going over the basic
configuration of NotePager Pro, including a walkthrough
of the configuration wizard. To begin, let's run
the program.
You can run the program by accessing it from
your start menu or double clicking on the shortcut
on your desktop.
If this is the first time you run NotePager
Pro, it will ask you if you would like to register
or continue.
If you would like to register, please see our
NotePager Pro Registration tutorial.
If you would like to use the trial version,
left click on Continue.
If this is the first time you've run the program,
you'll be prompted by the Setup Wizard.
For the purposes of this tutorial, left click
on Yes. In the first step of the setup wizard,
it will ask you what you would like to use for
the sender's name.
This name is what will show up on the recipient's
device as who sent the message and there are three
available options.
If you don't want the program to send any sender's
information, select the first option.
If you would like the program to use the username
of whoever you're logged into windows as, select
the second option.
If you want to specify a specific sender's name,
left click on the third option, then left click
in the space provided and type in what you want
your sender's name to be.
Select your preferred option and click on Continue.
In the second step of the wizard, it will ask
you where you would like the program to minimize
to.
It can either minimize to the Task bar with
the other programs or it can minimize next to
the clock in the system tray.
Please select your preference and click on Continue.
When you click on continue, a new portion of the
setup wizard will open and ask if you want to
run the Connection Wizard.
Click on Yes.
On the first step of the connection wizard,
the program will ask you for your preferred method
of message delivery.
If you intend to deliver your messages by phone
line and modem, left click on Modem
. If you intend to deliver your messages by Internet,
left click on Internet.
If you're unsure as to which to choose, please
watch our Protocol Information Tutorial.
For the purposes of this tutorial, we'll do the
Internet Connection Wizard, so left click on the
Internet button.
Make sure you're connected to the Internet, then
left click on Continue.
Left click on the Test button.
When the tests have completed, left click on
Continue.
When you click on continue, a new portion of
the setup wizard will open and ask if you want
to run the Carrier Wizard.
Before proceeding, be sure you know the carrier
of the devices you wish to send to.
Examples of carriers are American Messaging,
Sprint, Nextel, and AT&T.
Click on Yes to start the Carrier Wizard.
In the space provided, enter the Carrier's Name.
In this tutorial, we'll be doing a generic Internet
carrier.
Click on Continue.
In the protocol list, select the protocol that
matches your carrier.
If you're unsure as to which to choose, please
watch our Protocol Information Tutorial.
For the purposes of this example, we'll use
the SNPP.
Click on Continue, then left click on Continue
again.
In the SNPP Server, enter the host for the carrier.
In this example, we'll use snpp.carrier.com
Click on Continue to proceed.
When you click on continue, a new portion of
the setup wizard will open and ask if you want
to run the Recipient Wizard.
Click yes, then click on Yes again.
In the space provided, enter the name for the
recipient. You can name the recipient anything
you please.
Enter a name, then left click on Continue.
For this example, set the carrier to Nextel.
In the ID/PIN field, enter the ten digit cell
phone number of the device you wish to contact
and make sure to leave out the spaces and dashes.
Enter the phone number, then click on Continue
to proceed.
Left click on Done.
