How to Integrate SL4NT with PageGate

Integrating SL4NT with PageGate

Send Text and SMS Messages from SL4NT

PageGate can be easily integrated with Netal's SL4NT by using the GetAscii module.

When you configure a notification trigger in SL4NT, you can configure a "run program" action to pass alerts to PageGate for delivery.

Note: You will need to create a directory for the integration to reference. If PageGate is installed on the SL4NT server, we recommend creating c:\PageGateData\Ascii\. If PageGate is not installed on the SL4NT server, be sure to share the integration directory on the network so the PageGate and What's Up Gold systems both have administrative access/control.

1) Open the PageGate Admin.

2) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings.

3) Set the "Polling Directory" to the integration directory you've created (see above).
Note: If you set the Polling Directory to a shared network (UNC) path, be sure to provide the PageGate GetAscii windows service with the appropriate logon credentials to access the network data.

4) Check Enabled.

5) Click on Apply.
5a) When prompted, you do want this enabled for all existing groups and recipients.

When configuring your "Execute remote program" action, this is how to call on PageGate's GetAscii module:
<Integration Directory>\sendpage32.exe <recipient or group> <sender> <message>

For example:
c:\PageGateData\Ascii\sendpage32.exe ITDept SysLog Server <SL4NT hostname variable> is down

That would send a message to the group named ITDept from the sender SysLog and the message would say "Server CADPAGING is down"
