Horn |
The Fire Horn provides two functions: A Radio Bridge
and a secure SMS Gateway.
The Fire Horn provides a secure SMS gateway that allows
you to dispatch messages to responders' cell phones
and have mapping data provided to the cell phone.
The Fire Horn also provides a function called Radio
Bridge that allows members to listen to radio
traffic on their cell phones or land lines by initiating
a phone call when a department is dispatched. Responses
to calls can be monitored online using Response Monitor.
PageGate can be used to take messages from a CAD (Computer
Aided Dispatch) system and pass them to the Fire Horn
gateway. The Fire Horn gateway then passes the message
with all relevant mapping data to the cell phones.

Do Your Text Messages Contribute To Global Warming? |
I tracked down someone who would get us to the answer:
greenhouse gas footprinting expert Mike Berners-Lee.
Climate impact calculations are just the sort of thing
he does for work at Small World Consulting at Lancaster
University in the United Kingdom. And estimating the
impact of a text message is exactly the thing he did
for his 2010 book How Bad Are Bananas? The Carbon
Footprint Of Everything.

SMS Network Helping Farmers Connect |
There are 500 million smallholder farmers around
the world, many of whom have no internet access. These
farmers are often several miles walk from the nearest
village, totally disconnected from the information
that could make their farms more productive and profitable.
While initiatives such as Facebooks controversial
Internet.org are trying to get more people online,
some are taking a more low-fi approach: using simple
mobile phones and SMS to connect the offline world.

A meta-analysis of 16 randomized clinical trials
found that mobile telephone text messaging nearly
doubled the odds of patients with chronic diseases
adhering to their medication regimens.
The studies evaluated cardiovascular disease, diabetes,
HIV, asthma, allergic rhinitis, epilepsy and other
chronic diseases. Of the interventions, eight used
a daily text messaging frequency and eight used two-way

02/17/2016 How Realtors
are Using Text Messaging |
It is clear that text messaging is a powerful and
effective way to bolster workplace communication,
and therefore workplace function, across fields. Perhaps
less obvious is the potential marketing power texting
holds for fields like realty. Realty marketing can
be costly, making it ideal to cut marketing costs
and increase return on investment. Text messaging,
when used right, can do just that.
Automated texting is one way to save real estate agents
time and labor. By offering customers a means to text
in codes to automatically receive additional information
about a listing, such as important details or answers
to frequently asked questions, real estate agents
could save large amounts of time taking calls or answering
emails.

02/15/2016 How Construction
Firms are Using Text Messaging |
Texting has become a major mode of communication
and coordination for many workplaces, allowing colleagues
to exchange information rapidly and effectively. While
SMS is of great aid to office environments, firms
with more widely distributed work sites could benefit
even more from the extensive and efficient communication
network that texting affords. Construction firms are
no exception, where text messaging is put to task
as an effective way of keeping employees up to date
and safe.
Using text messaging to perform basic employee coordination
is especially important for construction firms, which
may mobilize multiple teams of workers to a range
of sites in one day.

that can be managed successfully with oral medications.
But people often forget to take tablets, even in healthcare
