I'm not aware of any piece of hardware (such as a modem or special device) that can send an SMS notification via PSTN line. My knoweldge of PSTN lines, though, is fairly limited. As I understand it, PSTN lines are mostly used for VOIP and if that's the case, you could hook a regular computer up to the PSTN line and use NotePager Pro to use the computer's modem to send out an SMS Message.

Actually - PSTN = Public Switched Telephone Network. Notepage, Inc.'s products do work with PSTN via the TAP protocol. Alternatively, Motorola makes (or, made) the "ALphaMate" which was a keyboard and screen device that used the TAP protocol on it's internal modem over the PSTN. While the AlphaMate may not be available, there were several companies making clones

You can use an alpha entry device like a Motorola Alphamate II or Alphamate 250 or a Canamex MiniPager. Be certain the correct PSTN connect baud rate is available on the device you select. We can provide any of these devices if you choose.
