Are you certain that port 25 is open? Here is a test:

1) Go to Start - Run
2) Type the following and hit enter: command
3) When the command prompt comes up, type the following and hit enter:

telnet smtpsp.vtext.com 25

If it comes back with a "220" response, that means port 25 is open and the problem may lay elsewhere. If it comes back and says "A connection to the server could not be established on port 25", that means that port 25 is closed and that you use a relay server..

Just as a point of clarification, a better host to test would be smtp-bb.vtext.com, so when you run the test, this is the command line you would pass:

telnet smtp-bb.vtext.com 25

Everything else about OzCom's post is very relevant and is a test you'll need to run.
