PageGate 4.0 installed on Windows 2003 Server, standard edition. It is a domain controller.

When I logon as a domain administrator I get the pager icon in the system tray. When I logon as a domain user I do not. I have given specific rights to the user for the c:\program files\pagegate folder and subfolders and files, but nothing. There PageGate service is running in Task Manager and show okay in system Services. I just don't the icon in the system tray when logged on other than a domain administrator.

Any ideas?

There seems to be an issue with "PGSTray.exe" and "users" (non-Administrator) Registry read/write permissions.

"Users" may only have permission to read the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NotePage\PageGate\Services

You will need to modify the "user" permissions on that key.

Open "regedt32"
Expand "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NotePage\PageGate"
Select (highlight) "Services"
On the Registry Editor's menu bar select 'Security' - 'Permissions'
Select "Users"
Check "Full Control" in the "Permissions" options
Select "OK"
Close Registry Editor

You should be able to log on as a "user" and have the PageGate icon in the system tray.
